When and why did you become a Marlins fan?

If you live out of the state of Florida, why did this franchise catch your eye?

I have always loved baseball and in 1993 I became a Marlins fan :)

I don't know how I lived with out the Marlins from 1985-1992 :confused

When and why did you become a Marlins fan? Summer 1996. I became a Marlins fan when my mom bought some Marlins clothing for me then I just started liking them since. I loved that Marlins jacket, too bad it doesn't fit me anymore.

If you live out of the state of Florida, why did this franchise catch your eye? Same reason as why I became a Marlins fan.

i was a fan of the team since '93 even though i was only 4. but i became a real hardcore fan during the 2001 season.

I have been a fan since '93. I have always loved baseball and was pretty excited to have a team down here in S. Fla.

Since 93 I was at opening day on the beautiful day in april at the young age of nine since the you can catch me at the pro with my teal and black chair go marlins fish fan for life :thumbup

ive been a fan for a while, but i was 3 years old in 93, so i realy didnt care about baseball for a few more years, but i know for sure i was there for 97...

In 1996 when I started following baseball and thought it was only natural for me to be a fan of the Marlins since I lived in Miami.

my team was the braves because that was the only team we could watch down here then the marlins came in 93 and ive been a fan ever since

My picking up baseball as a sport and the beginning of the Fish coincided. Watched Opening Day from my house and got fascinated.

I was 22 - 11 = 11 years old in 93 so that kind of worked out for me, baseball cards were in then and when the Marlins finally came out I was just old enough to really appreciate it. Too young to really like anyone else although I was somewhat of a Giants fan because I felt that Bonds was one of the most under-rated players of the era and I felt he got a bad rep...now I can't detest the guy anymore....

Anyhow for those former Braves fan, do you still like the Braves? I'd imagine you couldn't have thrown them out the window.

The moment we got a franchise and named it "Florida." I always hated the Dolphins and my Bucs sucked. I don't know if FL had the Magic and Heat yet, but I didn't like them either. I finally got a team in my favorite pro sport in my home state and was hooked ever since. I still have the first game on tape, although the quality has gotten pretty bad over the years. :lol

Bonds was a Pirate then.....

I've lived in Floridia since before the marlins. I didn't really became a big fan until 1997, when I went to my first marlins game. (game 6)

LOL, indeed he was...

Like I said I was mostly a Bonds fan at that time (before the Fish came around)

my grandpa always loved baseball but i never paid attention, then i started seeing commercials advertising the marlins and my grandpa was getting excited about having a home team for the first time in over 20 years so i started getting interested. by the time spring training '93 came around, i was a marlins fan and have remained one till this day.
