South Florida Media

Any predictions as to the reaction of the SoFla media?

I'm sure Bernadino will have something negative to say.

:thumbdown

Berardino was pretty positive in the radio the other day....

i really hope there are some good articles tomorrow....

I doubt there will be. We overpayed for Urbina and he will tell all of Florida that.

You're crazy - we traded an underperforming first round pick, a throw in from the Dumpster trade and a marginal double A prospect.

We have plenty of talent to replace all three.

I don't know, we may be for a surprise. Our media are a bunch of banwagoners like most of the Florida fans. Due to the team winning, comments may be on the positive side.

he better not say anything that bad or im look for him and slap him.. cuz he always finds something bad to write bout the Fish when they make a trade that looks like it goes our way

Gonzalez is hitting .300 in AA. Snare will be a solid reliever in the future. Smith will probaly be a backup outfielder. Gonzalez has a great glove and I see him in a lot of All Star games in the future. But thats my opinion and I doubt you will agree so let's wait a while to see who is right and who is wrong.

The eternal question, will the press be postive or negative? Pretty hard call, we may see an article with both sides.

Yeah, but Gonzalez was hitting .216 in Albuquerque, WHICH IS JUST LIKE DENVER, HIGH ALTITUDE, BIG HITS!!!!

AAA pitching was dominating him so he got demoted. Don't forget that little fact.

It's going to be very diverse. You're going to see some very positive, some very negitive, and something inbetween. There will be MANY variations.

I wonder what the attendance for the next Willis game will be... Or for the next promotion.

I think if we keep winning, and the media bandwagons, we will be geting some exciting crowds...!

notice the articles were all positive today?

The thing is, I haven't read ONE SINGLE opinionated column on it. That's what I was hoping to see. I wanted to see the variations of opinions...

I remember reading somewhere that a big chunk of the 30 Gs that went to the Willis vs Braves had bought tickets for the Marlins-Cubs game the 18th. And Willis pitches the 20th (Sunday) so that could be two big crowds in one series. Hell, if they sweep Montreal, we might have big crowds all three games! All I know is I'm going th 21st and most likely also the 20th if I find tickets :lol

Sure, we overpaid a bit, but you HAVE to overpay to get what you want, almost always. We traded them a 1B, an OF, and a P, three positions we're heavily stocked on. This is what you're supposed to do, build your system up so well that you can make a trade like this and STILL have a great minor league system AND get that impact player for the big team.

I think it was Hutton during yesterday's telecast that said that there will be those who criticize when you acquire prospects in a trade, and those who criticize when you trade prospects away in a trade. We'll just have to see how this move plays out.

Hey, when we win, and we get positive attention, we can DEFINATELY get some crowds. There's no doubt about that.

Cubs series is Billy's All Star Weekend and they have promotions all three days, so those will bring out big crowds too. Along with Redman, Willis, and whoever else is pitching. Keep the good times rolling! :thumbup

Whats the promotion on Sunday? I think Friday is the all star poster (soon to have Luiy added hopefully :D ) and Saturday is Floppy Hat Night.
