March 15, 200521 yr Author Anyone who said Gonzo is lookin for a strikeout with the bases chucked. 711153 I think his Grand Slam against the Phillies says otherwise..
March 16, 200521 yr Mike Lowell, no question about it. He's not the best hitter on that list, but he certainly is the most clutch. Looper deals, Lowell swings and it's a drive, deep left field, if it stays fair it's gone annnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnd it is a fair ball, Mike Lowell off Braden Looper in the bottom of the 10th and the Marlins win! MIKE LOWELLL.......... DEEEEEEEEEP TO LEFT............... OUTTTTTTTTTA HEEERE 710728 Ah I remember that. Mike Lowell is definitely no doubt clutch, but it's hard to choose between him and Cabs.
March 16, 200521 yr kinda depends on what KIND of clutch situation too.... need a sac fly? Lowell's your man. need someone to just put the ball in play? Castillo has the lowest K numbers I think... overall I think I'd go with Mikey though.
March 16, 200521 yr Suprised to see Delgado has no votes. He certainly hasn't started off on a good foot here. Struggling so far, though it's just preseason.
March 16, 200521 yr need someone to just put the ball in play? Castillo has the lowest K numbers I think... 711364 nah that'd be Juan Pierre. only 35 k's last year. Luis had like 60+
March 16, 200521 yr ah thanks ncmarlin... yeah, come to think of it Luis does tend to K on inside pitches. JP would be the man then, yep.
March 16, 200521 yr Can someone explain to my why f***ing Encarnacion has more votes than Delgado!?!? :plain
March 16, 200521 yr Can someone explain to my why f***ing Encarnacion has more votes than Delgado!?!? :plain 711565 94 RBIs
March 16, 200521 yr Can someone explain to my why f***ing Encarnacion has more votes than Delgado!?!? :plain 711565 94 RBIs 711677 As opposed to Delgado's 145 RBI that very same year?
March 16, 200521 yr Can't go wrong with Lowell... but I love seeing Luis up there in tight spots.. He works the count so well and takes pitches up the yahoo. He'll pick his pitch to hit and won't swing at much garbage.
March 16, 200521 yr Clutch-hitting is a fairy-tale. 710995 I hope this is sarcasm. If it isnt i find the statheads funny. It isnt even about stats in clutch situations what decides who is a good clutch hitter. It has to do with psychology and self control for the player. Not every player can stay cool in pressure situations. So when asking whos the best clutch hitter, its a combination of talent and psychological edge. Somehting that stats cant determine.
