Like I been saying MARLINS NEED ANOTHER BAT!

Featured Replies

why would you give up your boy?

He's probably worth a pretty penny, and will never get up to the Majors as a starter in a Marlins uniform...

Minus, these are the same guys who, if we don't make the playoffs, will be yelling and bad-mouthing ownership for not doing enough to win. I told you, you can't argue with a zealot, no amount of common sense is going to sway them. Derrick Lee is their God, he can do know wrong. 0-4 and six (6) men left in scoring position. No big deal, in their minds its not his fault, the other eight guys are to blame and not him.

Their idea of a trade is to offer Blaine Neal and Vlady for Randy Johnson. You and I are often on different sides of many arguments but this one, I got your back.

Again your being completely illogical. Im no fan of Lee. Im just trying to present the logical. You take ONE game to prove your point as opposed to over 3 seasons worth of data refuting your argument. Ridiculous! How can I persuage you differently? You have a warped sense of baseball reality. :lol One game?I follow Dereck Lee over past three years and is the same story with him. Sham is in his own little "safe" world where he has all his little pieces stacked neatly just the way he wants them, in his mind anyone who doesn't agree with him is thinking "illogically". Why? because Sham has all the answers and if Sham says the moon is made of green cheese you had better agree or incuur his wrath.

Last night's game is just one of a hundred, two hundred, maybe three hundred games in his professional career where Derrick Lee has shown he doesn't have what it takes offensively. His glove is terrific, his fielding % is .996. Last time I checked Conine's is .993, so over one thousand (1,000) ATTEMPTS, Conine makes three more errors than Lee. For some I guess that's a big deal. For me it's not.

Over the next few weeks we'll be playing the Expos, Braves, Dodgers, Phillies and Diamondbacks. We have our destiny right here in our hands. Anyone wanna bet how well Derrick performs with men in scoring position and the game on the line over the next ten days? Pathetic. Again Lee has top numbers with RISP over the last 3 seasons and your hinging your decision on him for the next ten games. Illogic rules your posts. Can't argue with it. I can only hope you one day see the error of your thoughts. Its obvious from your use of fielding percentage as a measure of defensive skill that you know little. Lee has an incredible range advantage over Conine and thus gets to more baseballs then Jeff, giving him more chances for error. Im done with this argument for good. ONE MORE TIME THOUGH:

LEE HAS BETTER NUMBERS IN SITUATIONAL CATEGORIES THEN ANY OTHER MARLIN OVER THE PAST 3 SEASONS...you seem to skip over this every time you try and respond. Its pathetic and has exhausted my patience.

As he gets closer and closer to arbitration other teams will know that the Marlins will be anxious to move a player they can't afford.

And I don't put much stock into his career stats, and neither does the rest of the country... He's a nobody as far as the rest of the country is concerned, and that's scary considering how impressive he looks on paper.

He's Cliff Floyd - The sequel. Guarantee when he signs somewhere else for more money he'll suck like a Hoover, just like Floyd.

Hes nothing like Floyd. Hes nearly a guarantee for 162 games played, something Cliff only dreams about. Im going to implode with all these silly posts!

Since we are talking about trade options for that tall waste of skin that currently occupies 1B, I don't think speculation should be limited only to other 1B's in the league.

Playing 1B isn't exactly rocket science, and either moving a positional player that the Fish trade for to 1B or moving an existing player to 1B is still an option.

From Sham - "Its obvious from your use of fielding percentage as a measure of defensive skill that you know little. Lee has an incredible range advantage over Conine and thus gets to more baseballs then Jeff, giving him more chances for error."

Professional scorers ignore the particular player in deciding errors or not. The question they have to ask themselves is "should a major leaguer make that play"? Derrick's range has nothing to do with it. Nor Castillo's range or Gonzo's range or anyone else. You should know that.

What it boils down to is fielding % works against your theories so you choose to ignore or trivialize it. Shame on you. You live by the sword, you die by the sword. I thought you were the guy who believes numbers don't lie.

lol, just thought I'd bring this up. Conine robbed a hr today playing LF.

Not bad a for a broken down old man who couldn't possibly help The Fish. a double and two more RBI, but I guess he just wouldn't fit in here. :banghead

if the marlins can trade to get Conine without trading D.Lee it would be a great addition. Conine could play LF for the remainder of the season and as far as PR the addition of Mr. Marlin would be great. Conine also provides the marlins with another hitter, a hitter than can and does produce RBI's.

anyone think of a trade for conine that does not invovle a Lee?
