Kensing up, Smith down

Recommended Posts

I think in a role where he will only see the lineup one time thru for the most part -- it will really benefit him. He will gain confidence and also in only being asked to pitch a couple innings rather than a starter's usual workload it will allow him to put more behind his pitches... that's why I truly feel he's going to be a great asset to this team now.

I really doubt and hope it's not to showcase him.

Wow. What a surprise. After last season it was clear he was not yet MLB ready.

I wonder why they are bringing him up ahead of Scott Olsen? It was my understanding the only reason Olsen didn't get the call last fall was due to injury.

no, that would be Trev Hutchinson

Alright, and it looks like Hutchinson is out for the rest of the season. Still Olsen is ranked higher that Kensing.

You're thinking of Hutchinson not Olsen.

Olsen is younger and has a higher ceiling so they're going to take their time with him. Logan has big league experience now and was pitching well at AA so why not give him some long relief work. It won't hurt him as he certainly has the right make-up to pitch in the bigs.

Is Kensing projected to be more of a long reliever, and Olsen a starter?
