So because Kensing wasnt good enough last year in a pennant run when he was called up from A ball we should just discount him forever

f***, Im shocked he is still with the club

Old man Mecir?

He can barely pitch one inning with all the pain that foots puts him in.

Who's gonna be the 8th inning guy?

I'd prefer to see Reidling. Bring him in for 4 innings, and then let Bump have 2-3 before handing it over to the rest of the bullpen.

Put Alfonseca on the 60-day DL to free up a 40-man roster spot, retroactive to April 22; he won't be back by June 22 anyways. Send down Kensing. Add Frank Castillo to the 40-man roster and start him on Thursday. He last started on Saturday so Thursday is his normal turn. Castillo is pitching pretty well in AAA and as a long-time ML veteran, he shouldn't be overwhelmed by the situation like Kensing would be.

Logan Kensing's pitches:

There's 6 options. In no particular order...

Bump has been a reliever all year. could he make the transition? we'll need a long man any way in case any of these options can't go 5-7 innings

Kensing has struggled with his control in the majors, but was the last one to throw 5-plus innings in a professional game

Reidling has been through injury and we can't lose him for atleast 4 games from the backend of the bullpen.

The game follows a start by Leiter. I don't think a bullpen game would work too well.

Calling up a starter would take some roster movement. Who goes down? It can't be a pitcher. Dillon? Aguila? Not worth it.

Moving everyone up a day would be a risky decision for a team that has injury concerns. Anyway, Moehler has done very well on more than 4 days rest. Why push it?

Looks like you're on to something RFerry. Expect to see Kensing get a spot start or two and then back to AA when AJ returns. AJ may very well go on the DL when Mota returns at the end of the week.

maybe I'm going nuts here, but I could've sworn Kensing pitched 2 innings in Friday's game against the D-rays.
