Olney: Reds are open for business

Featured Replies

Buster Olney on BBTN just mentioned that the Reds have called several executives around the league mentioning that they are ready to start dealing. They are willing to deal anyone on that roster according to him.

The team also soldoff the recliners in the clubhouse. :plain

Wily Mo Pena...

He only makes 440k. They have no real reason to dump him.

Do the Reds have any good starting pitchers?

If they did, they wouldn't be having an "everything must go" sale already ;) .

wouldn't mind adding milton to the rotation at all.. he's less than leiter would be next year...cause we all hope he retires thats for sure.

Graves is the only player on the Reds that the Marlins could really use.

I can't imagine who would trade for Griffey with that salary, and with his sub-par numbers.

They wouldn't trade Freel or Lopez, would they? Young guys who look like they have a nice future at SS and 2B

I was thinking about saying Lopez, but there is something wierd about him and the Reds. He didnt start for about the first month of the season and still ranks among the top NL SS in all numbers. There was talk that our GM was making Miley play Aurilla over Lopez. So if that is true, I dont think Felipe would be untuchable. There is no wayhe should be traded but our FO is gay so you never know. Same thing goes for Freel, he still doesnt play at 2B everday, we play Bergolla sometimes. So I dunno

Does that include Casey? I wish the Marlins would try and get him. I heard Mckeon say that's his favorite player, so he may try.

wow...they're willing to trade ANYONE?

Why would they trade Willy Mo Pena, Freel, Lopez, Casey,...etc?!?!

Anyways, I think Olney was going a little to far when he said they're willing to trade ANYONE.

And anyways, they're not doing THAT bad considering they have a better record than 5 teams...

But they're almost already out of it...they won't be able to make up 13.5 games on the Cardinals...so they have no shot anyways.

For what it's worth, the Mariners made up 10ish games on the Angels in 1995 in like one month, so it's entirely too early to write them off.

Offer them Enc, Stokes, Willingham and a lower level pitching prospect for Dunn.

Dunn is my favorite player in baseball and there's still no way in Hell I'd do that trade.

Why not? Stokes and Willingham will never play here unless we trade Lowell. Enc had a good start but we all know his offense is weak at best and he'll be gone after this year. I'm not saying Vargas/Tank as the pitching prospect, I mean some other lower level guy. I'd do the deal in a second if we think we can afford Dunn's arbitration numbers. He is a solid defender and can hit about 50 bombs a year.

1. Pierre

2. Castillo

3. Delgado

4. Cabrera

5. Dunn

6. Lo Duca

7. Lowell

8. Gonzo

I like that line up in the playoffs. :thumbup

i can see Ortiz going

i havent really been that impressed with his stuff so far this season

other than that i think that the field is great its just that they havent been able to get it going

the bullpen seems to be really blowing the games out so i can see the bullpen getting replaced (with the exception of Wagner)

the outfield is stacked

Dunn, Griffey, Kearns (with Cruz, Pena, Freel to back them up)

infield is great

Randa, Lopez, Freel, Casey (Aurilla, Dunn, Bergolla to back them up)

catchers

LaRue and Valentin are solid defensively

BRING BACK ACEVEDO!!!
