Guest Jack1
Looks like Bump is being punished for throwing that DP ball away. 799348 Exactly! So in that case...the jinx is still on! LOL
eadearmas
YYYEESSS!!!!! BUMP IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (even if he is still in AAA) YESSSS!!!! EDIT: I cant wait to see how the new guys perform.. lets hope we can see one step up! 799386 Don't count on it...
Guest Jack1
Glad to see Peisho gone. I guess Bump kind of got shafted, but I have zero confidence in him on the mound. When no one is one base hitters have an average of .237 against him, runners on .310, RISP .300. These moves won't help the pen much at all though. Hopefully they are temporary until some trades are made. 799395 But don't forget, he had 7 ER in May. I think 4 or 5 of them scored on other pitchers...Perisho had the most. Hotcorner
The reason I like Bump is that he can usually get ground balls, and doesn't walk many batters. His walks+hits per innings pitched is better than every reliever except Todd Jones. He has had some bad luck, the errant throw was terrible, but usually it's just that ground balls find their way through holes in the infield. WHIP for me is one of the most telling pitching stats, and Bump had good numbers. He's not a strikeout pitcher but I think generally he does his job which is to get ground balls. AJBurnett34
Bump should of stayed, riedling should of gone down. Bump hasnt done all that bad just that throwing error and another game but he had improved a whole lot since last year.
Guest Juanky
Bump is getting shafted. I don't know the fascination with Smith. Riedling stays because he's a project and he's Jack's boy. Mecir stays because he'll turn it around. So it was either Smith or Bump, and they made a horrible call. Santos will be shelled. Where is the FO today? And oh btw, I'm excited to see what Bentz can do. Hopefully lefties will get on base less than half the time, which will already be better than our past production. WildMarlinMan2003
bump>smith hopefully nate takes a few days or weeks in AAA and straightens out a bit and becomes as good as i know he can be bentz was pitching well in the minors, and de los santos was rather solid with milwaukee and should be able to pitch long relief 799380 Thank you LORD! No more Nate "AAA" Bump! :thumbup
rferry
I'm pretty sure Reidling is Loria's boy.
Guest Juanky
I'm pretty sure Reidling is Loria's boy. Jack likes him too, going back to their days in Cincy. I think he'll be good eventually, but Bump's better right now and might be the better reliever anyways. Riedling is a sacred cow though, and besides Smith is obviously the worse pitcher of the three. WildMarlinMan2003
I felt like Perisho just survived to make the team the last 2 years. He most likely will not be brought back. I expect Chad Bentz to pitch well. DeLosSantos is a toss up. We'll see. Glad to see Nate Bump is gone.
Hotcorner
well I guess Mecir felt left out so he decided to blow a game too.
CapeFish
Jack didn't use Bentz....why?
rferry
That was odd. Bentz had warmed up twice and Jack likes to throw the new guy to the fire. I'm happy he didn't.
MarlinsMY
Tonight, Mecir had an error on what should have been an inning-ending double play, according to the radio. Let's send him down to AAA! :mischief2
Admin
Bump didn't deserve the demotion, if it was for throwing the ball away like it certainly seems it was -- it's just plain wrong.

Let's send him down to AAA! :mischief2 800211 Naw, he would have to back hand it and it was a hard liner. That one really isn't his fault. Now being a horrible reliever for the past few weeks, that is his fault.
CapeFish
Let's demote Mecir too. Keep consistent somewhere at least.

prinmemito
Just thinking... it's very odd that Perisho got sent down now when a second southpaw in the pen could allow Matt to face more righties. :lol 799399 :lol

PBMarlin
RotoWorld's Take Matt Perisho - R - Marlins? ? Marlins designated LHP Matt Perisho for assignment. Perisho had a 1.93 ERA, but he wasn't of much use as a specialist with lefties hitting .346 against him. Righties were at .130. Since he did just fine against lefties last year, there's a good chance he'll be claimed on waivers. Jun. 7 - 5:57 pm et Nate Bump - R - Marlins? ? Marlins optioned RHP Nate Bump to Triple-A Albuquerque. If not for Ismael Valdez's injury, the Marlins would have dumped Bump despite a great spring. Now they're demoting him even though he has a 3.51 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP. Last year, he had a 3.57 ERA in 68 innings as a reliever. He hasn't been one of the Marlins' problems, and he deserves better treatment. Jun. 7 - 5:55 pm et Chad Bentz - R - Marlins? ? Marlins purchased the contract of LHP Chad Bentz from Triple-A Albuquerque. Bentz, who had a 5.86 ERA in 27 2/3 innings for the Expos last season, had allowed one run in 11 innings since moving up to Albuquerque. At best, he'll be an adequate lefty specialist. Jun. 7 - 5:52 pm et Valerio De Los Santos - R - Marlins? ? Marlins purchased the contract of LHP Valerio De Los Santos from Single-A Jupiter. Six days after he makes his season debut? This looks like a terrible idea. De Los Santos had missed a year due to his latest shoulder problem, and he hasn't looked useful since the first half of 2003. Little should be expected. Jun. 7 - 5:51 pm et 799384 That sums it up pretty well. Although I am not a big Bump fan, he was pitching better this year and showing a bit more confidence. Why there is a preference for Travis Smith is beyond me. Bump is clearly better. Chad Bentz had a good ST and will be interesting to watch. Whether he will do better than Perisho remains to be seen. Mecir also is effective against lefties using his screwball.
Guest Moneyball
Tommy Hutton said early in the broadcast that Bump was sent down and told to work on his breaking ball. Don't know why he couldn't work on that here with Wiley.
Guest Juanky
Probably because Bump had options and was the fan whipping boy
