Brandman316
I totally agree with the choices. Im happy to see 4 Marlins go and although Id like to see Delgado, Pujols and Lee are having great years.

FutureGM
Delgado got the short end of the stick, but it's really hard to make it as a firstbaseman in the NL with all of the talent at the position now.

Guest Juanky
Carlos Lee has played 5 games (and only 29 innings of those 5 games) at first base in his entire Major League career. That's like saying we can take one shortstop, because Miguel's on the team. Iowa
Delgado had a case, as did Nick Johnson, but I have no complaints on our selections. Carlos slumping lately didn't help his case. Maybe we'll see him in the HR derby?  The only thing I don't understand is they took an extra SS in Izturis, who is batting .275, instead of taking an extra 1B in Johnson or Delgado or an extra 3B in Ensberg. Mephisto
I thought he had played more games there since he looks like a 1b, but maybe Tony wants to leave Lee the whole game too see if he gets hurt and screw the cubs.
D-Train35
I'm curious to know what Delgado's numbers were at the break in the past years he's made the All Star Game. Either way, you can't complain too much since we'll still be seeing 4 players wearing Marlins teal in Detroit City. I think the AL fans screwed us here. I mean the AL has a very deserving roster while the NL has so many guys who should be there.
Accord
I'm pretty sure Delgado still has a chance, the national league DH will be named on July 11th so he could still get in.

With how rediculous the voting is in the All-Star game and how important the game is now, fans from teams like the Dodgers or St. Louis or any other NL Team with alot of fans should vote for crappy AL players so they would start the game for the AL and do bad against the NL Starters. For example, Nl Voters would vote some bench player on the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to start at 1st in the All Star Game.
Madman81
Where is the option of being happy with it but not agreeing with Gonzalez and Delgado getting snubbed?

Guest Juanky
Gonzalez deserves it, but honestly Lopez deserves to be there (plus he's the Red rep) and Eckstein really isn't way under Gonzo's production. Izturis, well, that's a dumb pick. But in a less flawed world there are only two NL SS (Lopez and fan pick, we'll say Eckstein) and Bass still gets the short end because Delgado would be at first. FishFan24
Yes. Cabs, D-Train, Luis and Lo Duca all deserve their All-Star spots. Delgado has been struggling as of late and with D-Lee, Pujols and others in the league, it was going to be tough for him to make it anyways. Iowa
Izturis was voted in by the players. The only real pick LaRussa got to make was Smoltz.

Iowa
I'll copy and paste my original point from the other all-star thread.. it probably belongs in this thread anyway. Some might be missing the point.. Delgado may have been deserving but he wasn't voted in by the players. These are all the players picked by LaRussa alone: Smoltz - ATL Fuentes - COL* Peavy - SD* Lopez - CIN* Alou - SF* Bay - PIT* Gonzalez - ARI* *He got SEVEN picks of his own, SIX of which he had to make to honor the "one player from each team" rule... so in essence, he got to make ONE of his own picks, that being Smoltz. 838829[/snapback]
