Mark Redman

Newark-Star Ledger Reporting that hte Marlin's are one of the team's interested in Pittsburgh RHP Mark Redman...

So has many other sites/news organizations. So what's news about rehashing long previous trade rumours?

I read where the Yankees were interested in Babe Ruth. I wonder if Jake Ruppert will pull the trigger on the deal?

Nice comment Jerk.

This was published Sunday...thought it would be interesting to some people here.

Fans like you are the reasons I find myself hoping the Marlins tank.

I rarely post in here and dont spend much time in here.

But I do find it stupid when I try to post something of interest and get attacked. There was nothing wrong with this thread....

this would be a nice improvement over our current left hand situation. mark is having a great year and i think he would greatly benefit pitching in joe robbie. if this didnt hurt us much financially i think its a great move

We already have 7 starters (Beckett, Burnett, Willis, Leiter, Olsen, Moehler, Valdez). While I think Mark is a good pitcher, who pitches very well at the Pro, I don't think we need to add another starter.

Just a headsup...Redman earns 4.5 million a year...

Thanks for the worthless response. You aren't clever or witty. How about you go play in the street now?

thanks Passion. i didnt realize that. thus the reason i love this site!

No, the reason you hope the Marlins tank is because you're the typcal elitist Red Sox fan who doesn't realize that what happened last season was a fluke, and the world doesn't revolve around what Theo had for breakfast.

Come back when the Red Sox win another World Series. Until then you're still pretenders and wannabes.

The fact is the Marlins and Redman have been linked in rumors for some time now and all you were doing was using this rehashing of old news to get your puss and your hated Red Sox onto this board.

The Red Sox had nothing to do with this post. I rarely toot the Sox horn about being '04 champs. Winning 7 in a row in the playoffs is not a fluke.

I rooted for the Marlins in the NL in 2003 (before they faced the Yankees).

This was a new story and update.

Bitter much?

Do we really want Redman back? He doesn't throw that fast and got smacked in the World Series. I think he's a good pitcher, but he's not the answer.

Elitist? He was just posting news he thought was relevant. He doesn't follow the Marlins, therefore did not know this was "old news". Ass.

f***ing Marlins. 2 world series in 10 years, worst fans ever. So damn lucky to have this team. Too bad there are so many dumb Miami a**holes like you that follow it.

Yes, if the price is right and we can re-sign him for next year

Redman is much better than Leiter right now, the money is the only major concern, but if there's a chance the Marls will keep him around for next year, I don't see why its a bad idea to trade for him.

Thank you for a good post in this thread. :thumbup

Damn Marlins2003, get the stick out of your ass. Dude was just posting something he thought was news.

kito good observation man. i used to cringe when he pitched for us back in 2003. i swear it looked like he was throwing BP. his control has gotten so much better since then aswell as his confidence. i think coming back to the marlins (who has proved to be a winner in the past) will boost his confidence even more so. i think if we are looking for a nice left handed arm to replace al light-me-up redman would be a nice welcomed fit.

I'd love it if he could be re-signed for insurance in case AJ leaves next year, but I'm thinking he's going to demand bigger dollars than we'll want to pay. For just the rest of the season.... sure why not. Not my money!

And yeah I know Redman wasn't great in the '03 postseason, but he helped us get there. Right now I'm more concerned with getting there.

Jesus man. got anger issues??

We are already stockpiled at the pitcher position especially with Ish coming back. And its not like Ish will get much of an opportunity starterwise because of Trelle, Josh, AJ, Olsen, and Moehler around. And I don't think that is worth 2+ million and some prospects to have him be emergancy starter when have Leiter and Ish(Although neither are any good. Having a third would be pointless.)

Now if AJ were traded and for some reason did not get back a starter...then I maybe would look into this.
