Yes, but not off Leiter. Sheffield almost caught it too, but he couldn't get a glove on it. It was a really good effort, though, and it looked like it really hurt! (It didn't stop me from initially wanting it to be an error, though... :whistle )

Here's the thread about it in the MLB forum: http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...showtopic=46754

Damn, anyone else feel jilted by Leiter?

This is really incredible. They guy couldn't throw a first pitch strike to save his life for us and then all of a sudden his control and movement is back.

Believe me. I don't believe he would have done this for us. He appears not to have been very motivated as a Marlin.

First off, congrats on one helluva game Al. Even though it was with the Yanks. Second off, Its my opinion that Al knew that he had to go out and throw strikes like he never has before b/c if he didnt he would be designated as a yank. Third off, I think Al realized that he was not goin out with a record like he has and he was gonna do whatever it took to get it done. Maybe it was just another instance of proof that this team has no heart.

At any rate, Al ice that shoulder and elbow tonight because man I know that it has to hurt with as hard as you were throwin out there.

Ya know, folks, sometimes it takes a change to get a player out of a slump. I'm sure that's all that happened here.

His first (I think it was the first) start with the Marlins he did something like that too

Pavano :shifty

I just think that nobody likes playing for the Marlins and everyone is a better player when they leave. It makes me mad. I won't forgive Lee for the same reason. :(

that is ridiculous

I don't think it's necessarily ridiculous to think people don't like playing for an indifferent crowd of 50.

4 innings, 2 hits, one run and 7 SO.... God Almighty!!!

i watched the game and man he finally kept the ball down all his pitches were working and he didn't nibble as much it was the al i was hoping for in a marlins uni but unfortuantely it didn't happen..but he's a great guy and i wish him all the best :)

If Al had that kind of game in him, then the Marlins coaching staff shares responsibility for not bringing it out sooner.

Who would have thought he had that in him? This might be an apparition, he could of just been up for a game against the Sox, I hope he returns to the form he showed for the Marlins this year.
