July 26, 200521 yr I'm going to be in Miami for August 12th and 13th and I am hoping to catch a Marlins game. Where are the best places (bars) to go before / after the game? What is the best way to get tickets. Where is the best place to sit? I'd really like to see Dontrelle Willis pitch if possible. Does anyone know if he will be pitching either of those games? If everyone pitches on normal rest, I'm guessing he will pitch on the 12th. I noticed that there is a double-header on Monday (Aug 8th). Since there aren't any off days around then, I'm guessing someone will be called up or there will be a bullpen start. Any thoughts on that analysis? Is Jai alai worth going to see?
July 26, 200521 yr Hard Rock Casino before and after the games. Best way to get tickets is to walk up to the window and ask. Jai Ali is not worth going to see, unless you wanna see the gimiest place youve ever been in. Id go to Calder if they are in session before going to jai ali.
July 26, 200521 yr There isn't a quality bar in the area for miles. You'd have to go a long way to find a food place to eat.
July 26, 200521 yr I always provide the following comments whenever this question is asked. If you want to stay reasonably close to the stadium, hangout at the pool, gamble, have lots of stuff to do in one location before and after the game, The Seminole Hard Rock casino and resort is just great! Good club scene there too. If you want to experience more of a nightlife Sodom and Gomorrah thing, then South Beach (in Miami Beach) is for you. Depending on your budget regarding tickets, for the budget-minded, the upperdeck around home from first to third offer a terrific vantage point to see the "whole" game unfold in front of you, while still having a great view of the pitcher. There are many seats available on a regular basis in the first three rows (even some front row) in the upperdeck. I moved there from downstairs several years ago and I love it. If money is no object, anything in the lower bowl around home is terrific as is the club seating behind the boxes. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES buy terrace box seats, they face the outfield and your view will be obstructed by people in the aisles and your neck will hurt for days having to sit sideways to watch the game. Hope that helps.
July 26, 200521 yr eh, i kinda get this guy's point but I got no problem with Terrace Box Seats...I know you face the outfield but this is a football stadium, not a baseball stadium so a lot of the seats are at weird angles...having to turn a couple degrees to the side doesn't bother me at all...and I've never had my view obstructed by people in the aisles besides the occasional guy walking by with his four sodas and four nachos...but that's a normal thing, nothing to complain about, you get that in every section...plus you get a great number of foul balls in the Terrace Box seats if youre up for that, and if you are, be alert, I've seen way too many people get straight PEGGED by those things... :lol
July 26, 200521 yr I recommend fish tank seats. They are cheap, close to the field and the food stuffs, and there's always a chance that you might catch a Delgado home run. But that's just my opinion.
July 26, 200521 yr Go to Hollywood Circle after the game, it's very close to the stadium and there's lots of restaurants, stores, bars, etc. there. The greek restaurant there is my favorite. Also, the stadium is no where close to Miami, it's right on the Broward/Dade county boarder mabye 25 miles north of Miami, if you want to go to South Beach after the game it'll probably be midnight by the time you actually got down there and parked between the brutal traffic trying to get out of the stadium and how far away it is. If you're only going to be going to one game, then get the best seats possible and don't sit directly behind home plate because the netting absolutely sucks. I'd recommend infield box or founders club seats in sections 145, 144, and 154, 155. 145 and 144 are behind the Marlins dugout and 154 and 155 are behind the vising teams dugout. Don't buy fish tank, terrace box, power alley, etc. seats, buy ONLY infield box or founders club since this will be your only game of the year and infield box seats are pretty cheap anyways. Best place to buy tickets? Just buy them online from the Marlins website through ticketmaster, if you want to keep your ticketstubs as a souvenir then i'd recommend having them hold the tickets for you at will call, if you don't care about ticket stubs then you can simply print the tickets out yourself on your computer.

I recommend you try to get seats in sec. 110, 107 (those are a little far but you get a nice view and you aren't in the sun), and of course, the sections behind home plate. Upper deck is also great. You see everything from there.
July 26, 200521 yr the sections behind home plate. 874967 Don't buy seats behind home plate!!! While they are great seats, the netting is so horrible to look through the entire game, you start getting tunnel vision or seeing double by the 7th inning :lol .
July 26, 200521 yr I recommend you try to get seats in sec. 110, 107 874967 Ive always wondered about those seats, but never sat there. It seems like those would be better than the terrace box seats directly behind the bullpens because of the need to twist your neck to see the plate. Do you get a good view from 107, 110?

Although it's further than the other terrace box sections it is MUCH more comfortable.
July 26, 200521 yr i always hit up Quarterdeck before the games. good food good people. good south florida sports atmosphere damn i sounded like a commercial for the place http://www.quarterdeckrestaurant.com/ and no i dont work for the place. just recommendation
July 26, 200521 yr I'm in Miami from 7-10 August, and I'll be at the game the 9th vs Arizona, my brothers friend who lives there has season tickets, I think somewhere in the Infield Box Seats are there any other places you guys recommend in Miami? like cool places to go..?

Do you get a good view from 107, 110? 875043 I sit there (107,110) when the upperdeck is closed and they're okay but unfortunately, since I have my kid often times, they often seem to be a haven for drunks and those who think the F word has to be uttered every five seconds ( :thumbdown ). 110 can be okay, but you are watching play from behind and my (Sony) headset radio barely works in that corner.
July 26, 200521 yr Great recommendations so far in Quarterdeck and the Hollywood Hard Rock. Also gotta give props to Accord for mentioning Young Circle, love seeing my neighborhood get some pub ! I would also add Hooters on Pines and University pre game as a good hangout for some cold beer just because of location (and girls). Can't go wrong though down here, South Florida rocks !
July 26, 200521 yr I was in sect. 110 once, Sept 19 '04...Valdez fielded a ball off his heel and Conine blasted a homerun over the scoreboard...the view is pretty far, i'd rather be upperdeck than low and that far from the infield...but if you like to face the plate, i guess it makes more sense...I'd still rather be in Terrace Box, 102 or 103 and turn a few degrees to my right instead of looking straight ahead and being that far...plus 102 and 103 give u great view of the visiting bullpen which I always get a kick out of...(nothing like being able to once again chant for Charles Johnson when Tampa Bay was in town this year...) ...by the way, speaking of sections 107 and 110...anyone know what happened to sections 108 and 109? :mischief2
July 26, 200521 yr In every corner of the lower deck, two section numbers are missing because the upper deck has more sections and the numbers are lined up from top to bottom (410 over 210 over 110).

Great rooms, really well-run, the new clubs are great! Don't knock it if you haven't tried it.

July 28, 200521 yr i recommend sitting right on the left field line they are awsome seats they also face homeplate and you can ask miguel for a baseball. i got one really because of my sister lol what with baseball players giving the balls to lil girls lol
July 28, 200521 yr The August 8th Doubleheader is in Colorado I believe. Do you know where you are going to stay yet? If you want to go to a bar, I suggest heading up NW 27th Ave into Broward County. 27th turns into University Drive and about 5 miles north of the stadium there are some nice sports bars to eat at (a Hooters is one) in Pembroke Pines on the corner of Pines Blvd. and University Dr. It is close to the stadium, very safe, and not too expensive. Here is a link to Google Maps of that area. If you zoom out and pan down a bit, you will see Pro Player/Dolphins Stadium striaght down that road once you pass the Turnpike Extension. The best way to get tickets is at the stadium. Ticketmaster handles Marlins games, so you can call ahead if you wish. I prefer the seats in right field. Behind home plate is not bad.
July 28, 200521 yr Go to Conine's new restaurant: http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...showtopic=47552
July 28, 200521 yr I almost always sit in the outfield reserve, cheap tickets and a good view. Plus encarnacion is always throwing balls out there (never got one) but the one time I sat in the fish tank Pierre threw me his first practice ball of the official 2005 season! (It was opeing day) Also last night I sat in the infield box, sec 146, great seats and I'd recommend to anyone. :thumbup
