September 2, 200521 yr booooooo Oh well....maybe we will see a PH again. I cant take this 0-4 or 1-4 with a single, crap from Lowell much longer. We now have a better hitter than him on the bench.
September 2, 200521 yr Disappointing news. Hopefully Hermida gets the start tomorrow. This is not unexpected, though. Jack never changes his ways.
September 2, 200521 yr No surprise perhaps, but still a disappointment. Hermida could've added some energy into the lineup.
September 2, 200521 yr Lowell has been swinging the bat a little better as of late (3 for 9) since being benched. I type that as I roll my eyes since the guy has been brutal all year, but his recent at bats might have inspired Jack to let him stay in. As long as Hermida gets his pinch hits, and is rewarded with playing time if he does well, I'm happy.
September 2, 200521 yr Im speechless................ :plain Everyone from commentators, sports analysts and even people on this forum have said one time or another how this team needs some kind of spark to get things going. Hermida comes in and drops an atom bomb and McKeon just acknowledges it like a fart in the wind. I love Mike Lowell, but management has given him a HUGE chance up to now. Hasnt he only been benched like in no more than 3-4 games in a row? We have given him more than a good enough opportunity to get it going and he just doesnt have it. Im not saying if we make it to the playoffs that he wont be effective, but theres gotta be some kind of reality when it comes to looking at the numbers and those numbers come from the lack of offense.

September 2, 200521 yr I'd really like to see what McKeon's explanation is for keeping Mike Lowell in the lineup all this year. He's really been given a free pass by the media on this. I don't think he can still say, now that we're in September, that he still thinks, "Mike's gonna come out of it." He's had 5 months to come out of his slump and it hasn't happened, time to have some balls and get him out of the lineup.
September 2, 200521 yr ....time to have some balls and get him out of the lineup. 926608[/snapback] Well McKeon is rather old, so Im not sure they still function. :lol

Hermida is one of the top prospects in baseball- so know it wouldnt surprise me to see him hit ANYONE.
September 2, 200521 yr No Hermida but I doubt the game will be played.. Its looking pretty bad up north and the storms are moving south

Im not saying he would come in and put up Pujols like numbers, but he would be more consistant than what Lowell has been and with more power. A lefty bat with power would be welcome on any team............ except ours. :plain

September 2, 200521 yr I don't think anyone is saying they don't want Hermida in there. We need a spark. But most people aren't surprised McKeon isn't starting him.
