NFL Week 4 discussion Thread

It's Sunday. I'll be objective the rest of the week. Until then, I'll be a homer. I'm still fired up, what do you expect?

That being said, you said:

you've made me go from rooting for a team that has gone from NFL laughingstock to a legitimate Superbowl team to absolutely loathing them

And yet I'm supposed to call you when they get good? Let the record speak for itself. I'm not saying we're going to the Superbowl, but I'm damn happy. If you loathe them, that's your problem. It can't be just me, considering Hugg talks as much crap and you don't take nearly this line with him, but, oh well.

Hugg doesn't talk nearly the crap you do. I have no problem with being excited, but you're taking it to a whole new level of jackassery. I'd say you're about on par with a soccer hooligan and the only thing that's preventing you from reaching that is you haven't beaten someone to death for liking another team.

Anyway, FeLo, I wasn't arguing that wins count less when you beat bad opponents, HOWEVA , you're talking as if you've beaten top notch competition and you're just going to roll to 7-0. Sure, the Jets have an awful offense, but that defensive line will shut down Caddy (who came back to Earth in a big way today against a defense that gave up 20something points to the Bears). Also, the Fins won't roll over and I really like our chances considering we'll have Ricky back and it's just gonna be one more weapon for Scott Linehan to use to exploit the Bucs defense.

Sorry I didn't mean to come off like that, it is just I am excited about being 4-0 after being 0-4 last year. I honestly don't think we are going to be able get back to the super bowl with Griese as our QB, the man makes way to many stupid throws, and he single handly almost cost us the Minny and Lions game. That being said I think that we have a playoff team. Yea our 4 wins have been against bad teams, but my point was the Jets are bad, the Dolphins are very beatable and the 49ers are bad. If we are an elite team we should be 7-0. Didn't mean to come off as a cocky SOB, it is just what think.

And in the meantime, the Bears are in first baby!!!! Woot!

:lol

Does it always have to be about Iowa?

You know, nothing quite brings a smile to my face quite like an IowaMarlin post. That kid is true blue. I'm the same way with Ohio teams (Cleveland excluded) but even I'm not above making excuses. Except IowaMarlin is always straight up about his homery.

I wub it.

Somehow the Dolphins are too.

Dude, the Dolphins suck.

Ronnie Brown is a bust.

Defense is old and busted.

And the Redskins!

49ers had a 14-0 lead and waisted it!

f*** you San Fran.

I wanted that game for my pick em.

:banghead

I think i only have one wrong in the pick'em so far.

BTW, they just showed the replay in the Texan game on sportscenter. I believe SVP and Stuart Scott are doing the show tonight and both just repeated that the call was terrible.

It's pretty much not debatable the call was wrong and I wouldn't be surprised to see the NFL issue one of their appologies this week.

/ends rant.

I hope they do. And, if wrong, while I'll admit it sucks it happens all the time in all levels of football.

I forgive your rant. It's what Jesus would do. (btw that was a joke. I'm actually over my homerism and looking over those old posts and laughing)

I'm still glad to be 4-0 and can't wait for the Jacksonville game (I'm pumped already and hope I don't have to take that back next weekend).

warner might not eva get his job back in arizona after the way mccowen proformed..... nice to see zona back on track.........

after this sunday all i noted is that....... the bills really need a qb and losman aint the answer. chargers are the real deal and now there playin like it. and the giants on offense loook unstoppable..............

eagles are great on offense as long as mcnabb stays healthy..... and the kc meltdown might f*** there whole year up........

on the brighter note..... no ronnie brown is not a bust, the defense isn't old and busted... and we beat the denver broncos who are 3-1.... which says alot about the dolphins........... HATTA STFU

guess whose in 1st place "nope, aint the jets, bills, or da 3 times super bowl champs." its the phinz BIACHHHHHHHHHHHH

:lol

Ray Zalinsky: Went a little heavy on the pine tree perfume there, kid?

Tommy: Sir, it's an taxicab air freshener.

Ray Zalinsky: Great, you've pinpointed it. Step two is washing it off.

I would just like to point out that for all the whining about that Texans call. NO ONE and I mean NO ONE has pointed out that AWFUL intentional grounding call on Palmer about 5 minutes earlier when he was clearly outside of the tackle box that only happened because Dunta Robinson threw a fit for 5 minutes (which appears to be all that guy is good at, his 40 time when running towards a ref is 3 flat).

And as for the fumble, yeah, probably a bad call. *shrugs* I thought they'd overturn it, they didn't, not our fault. After the crap we've been through over the years and that awful intentional grounding call, the "offensive pass inteferences" we got called for twice (they belong in quotes because they didn't happen), pardon me if I fail to feel sorry for the Texans.

And I don't care who we played, you play to win the game and we're doing it. Nothing more we can do. If people want to keep on doubting, let them, we'll prove ourselves on the field. Personally, I don't give a damn what anyone else thinks about the team, they're 4-0, they're in first place, that's all that matters.

He's not just my "hero," he's also my best friend.. :thumbup

This is the exact same point I've been making all along. Thanks for coming to a brother's aid.

Hey, it's called sarcasm.

I'm a rabid Dolphins fan, homey.

the giants on offense loook unstoppable..............

Unless you can get a man in Eli's face. He's getting better at stepping up in the pocket [as long as there is a pocket to step up into] but he is terrible under pressure - EXACTLY the same problem as Kerry Collins.

Once the rest of the NFL figures this out, the G-Men will be in trouble. On a side note - the Giants are terrible at defending the 3rd and long/4th and long plays. Why aren't they sticking to their game plan and blitzing?!

Anyway - this has been a really fun and unpredicatable season. I like seeing the Pats on their backs and the Fins at the top for a week or two! I *especially* enjoy seeing Culpepper struggle after trying to say he didn't need Moss. Sorry Daunte, but you can't close your eyes and chuck the ball deep anymore. Welcome to the NFL.

Man, this is going to be reallllll interesting.

Carolina is forced to punt! Green Bay can make a game of this!
