October 9, 200521 yr Joe Giradi said in a article that the first thing he intends on doing once he is hired as either Tampa Bay's or Marlins manager will be hiring Don Zimmer as his bench coach, what do you guys think? I like the experience that comes with this!
October 9, 200521 yr so that mean if he has to choose b/w Tampa and us he will choose Tampa bcuz Zimmer lives in Tampa and prob. doesnt want to leave.

October 9, 200521 yr Pedro is about to start punching the old punching bag to prepare for the many matchups vs the fish and his potential rematch with Zimmer if this is the case.

October 10, 200521 yr Being a yankee hater, Girardi and Zimmer as our Skipper and BC make me twinge.. But i do know that Zimmer wouldnt be a bad choice, although i dont know to much about Girardi yet..
October 10, 200521 yr Zimmer's not gonna leave Tampa. He lives there and only attends home games anyway. He's staying put
October 10, 200521 yr Look, Harry Dunlop was our bench coach this year...does it really matter who's the bench coach? If Zimmer comes, I'm sure it makes that first series against the Mets when Pedro pitches (in Shea, no less) a novelty, but it's not a big deal, and to be honest with you, I'm sort of put off by Girardi already naming names for a staff when he's yet to get a job-offer.

How can you be sure he hasn't been given an offer already and the rest of the interview process is just window dressing? All reports are that Loria is very high on Girardi and could have made some commitments during their meeting in NY last week.

I don't know for certain that he hasn't been given an offer, but you'd figure that the "free-agent" managerial market breaks down in some way that Girardi will probably be on the top 3 of just about every team with a vacancy, so I highly doubt we'd be surreptitious with this, but I could be wrong.
