June 15, 200620 yr Soon he'll get 3000 k's and he already has 200 wins and probably wont make it to 300, because he's thinking about retirement. Is he a HOF with those numbers?

June 15, 200620 yr I would think so. The guy's been a winner and that is a major factor in being elected to the HOF besides the stats.

June 15, 200620 yr i like C. Schilling but i dont think he's a first ballot, i mean the guys that have much better numbers and i think more worthy than him that have not gotten in yet. Like G. Gossage, the guy use to get his save pitching 2 to 4 inns. sometimes and he was dominant and he's still waiting. Another guy is Andre Dawson, the guy was great for years on no knees and he's also waiting....And to add he has only won 10 or more games only 8 times out of 19 seasons....
June 15, 200620 yr It's going to be pretty damn hard, imo. If he wins a Cy Young this year, then I think he gets in. If not, it's going to be really tough.

June 15, 200620 yr No, Schilling is not more deserving than other pitchers who have been denied HOF status. If you look at his career, he was a pretty average pitcher who never won 20 games from 1988-2000. His best years were in AZ, where he won 20 games twice. Another big knock against him: No Cy Young awards. Interestingly, he made as many All-Star Games from 2001-now than he did from 1988-2000.
June 15, 200620 yr I don't think he deserves it as a player, but we'll see perhaps being part of the 2004 Red Sox will give him some sort of boost.

Yea, but if you look into it the the 3000 k club is pretty elite the question would be is it as elite as say the 300 win club or 500 HR club
June 16, 200620 yr He deserves it. As far as CY Young, he has been overshadowed by Johnson in the NL and Santana
June 16, 200620 yr I don't really think Schilling is worthy. Then again, they've been letting in some unworthy people in recent years.
June 16, 200620 yr Starting pitchers without the sexy 300 win mark havent been getting in. Having said that Schilling doesnt get in. Jack Morris deserves to be there before Curt Schilling.
June 16, 200620 yr Then again, they've been letting in some unworthy people in recent years. Who? You could argue that Tony Perez was. But I am not complaining. Just relating one person who many people have taken issue with his admittance.
June 16, 200620 yr I'd rather see Jim Rice in before Schilling. I agree...he should be in long before Schilling is eligible

June 16, 200620 yr Schilling is a class act, but I think he falls just short of HOF. But if he makes it eventually it wouldn't be a shame on baseball, since there are less deserving guys in there already.
June 16, 200620 yr I agree about Gary Carter......he should be in the Hall of Good. Andre Dawson played with Carter, and was vastly superior to him as a player. Schilling is a tough one. I'm on the fence about him. If Schilling gets in then you have to let Mike Mussina in, and I don't know for sure if he's a Hall-of-Famer either. This might just be me, but I think Bert Blyleven and Jack Morris should get in before Schilling.
June 16, 200620 yr Mike Mussina is going to be darn close as well. Around 260-270 wins when he ends his career most likely and he will have around 2,750 strikeouts. 5 All-Star apperances (more than likely 6 after this year) and 6 gold gloves. I don't think he gets in just like Schilling. Just not 'elite' enough.
