Manager of the Year

Featured Replies

Hey guys, this may be a stupid topic, so I apologize if anything, but I would like to get your feedback on this.

IF the Marlins finish .500 or a little above or a little below (a game or two), do you think they would give Manager of the year to Joe Girardi, or would it go to someone else, Like Jim Leyland in Detroit, Willie Randolph in NY, Ozzie Guillen in Chicago?

Whats your take on this?

Way too early for this thread. I'd have to say the Marlins have to end up at .500 or better for Girardi to get just a bit of recognition.

Its funny that this thread comes up because at the begining of the year there was nothing but

"FIRE JOE NOW!" Threads'... Wow! What wins do for you huh??

Anyways, it isnt to early for this thread. Im telling you right now the fish can finish a game over .500 and Joe wont come close to winning of the Manager of the year... Dont get me wrong Ive stood behind Joe since day 1, but he has no shot!

Willie will win the NL (unless they completly collaspe) and depending how the AL Central turns out it will be Leyland or Ozzie again...

haha this board is one hell of a rollercoaster ride

Joe has done a great job. He has stopped making the stupid mistakes he was making earlier in the season. He is learning as well. Doing a great job so far, but come on now. The Marlins have played great the last 21 games, but hey there's still a little under 100 games left. Let's play those first.

Joe's done a good job so far but it's wayyy too early for these Manager of the Year threads.

I dont agree with the "stupid mistakes" comment.

He was learning about his new ballclub AND his ballclub (for the most part) was not performing early on. He didnt make stupid mistakes.

Not much has changed about Girardi's style except that his players are producing.

As far as him getting mangager of the year.........The Marlins would have to win the NLCS or else he has no shot. The Love Train for the Mets will only gain more speed as the year progresses.

Ok. That was not the focal point of my post but.........

He'll need to win the Wild Card then.

Within two months we go from "fire Girardi" to "Girardi- Manager of the Year?"

I love MB.com

Isn't this place great? :lol

Speaking for myself and Fish4Life, we have been defending Girardi since day one and I dare someone to find a post that says otherwise.
