We're 5.5 games out, and only 4 games back in the loss column...

If I have to hear him deny the Marlins' contention yet again tomorrow, I'm calling in and ripping him a new one. :hat

Why do people focus on us going to the PO's? Just be happy with the success we are haveing :thumbup

How can you not focus on the postseason with the way they've been playing?

OF COURSE I'm ecastatic that they've exceeded expectations. But they are just about on the cusp here, and playing better ball in the past month + than ANY team in the NL....

AND doing this with various injuries to key players.

It isn't just that we're only 5.5 out...

It's also that the NL is so mediocre right now, that we have as good a shot as anyone. NOBODOY in wild card contention is playing even 'very good' at this point. The Marlins are the only ones making a move. Everyone else is almost static, and that is just bizarre in itself (although interleague records would be a huge reason why we're gaining ground...8-6 vs AL while the rest of the NL is playing wretched against their counterparts).

Oh come on. This is why people hate sports talk radio.

I love sports talk radio. And I LOVE Boog Sciambi. I listen to him everyday and think he's the best thing since coke.

Therefore, I do not follow your above statement.

I don't know how far the archives go back, but I'm sure if you did hard enough, you could start to see possible playoff threads around this time in 2003. When your team is this hot, no matter how young, and they are right there running with the big boys, you SHOULD be talking playoffs until it is no longer a possibility. :thumbup

you play the game to win :)

yep. herm edwards says it the best: "HELLO! You play to win the game.."

why do we care what boog thinks?

Coke will kill you. Plain old Coca Cola. Ruins your teeth, pure garbage and sugar.

thats why i stick to pepsi and Marlins, makes a man healthy, proud and full of rotten teeth :D :thumbup ...and i see no reason why this team shouldnt look towards the postseason...everyone doubted the marlins of 97 & 03 and the heat this, lets continue to shock the world and get them to realize sports are played with the mind and heart and we have alot more heart than anyone could have realized

I'd rather dream for playoffs than dream for a .500 season anyday. Makes the season that much more fun. Why not reach for the stars?

Which is fine, we all hope that happens, but no one should be expecting it. Despite what the current hot streak may lead some to believe, chances are eventually this team is going to be playing a lot more Abrocrombish and a lot less Ugglaly.

I don't recall anyone doubting the Marlins of 97. They were expected to win. And rightfully so with that lineup they put out.

yeah, that was the only year this team was ever supposed to play well, and play well we did :)

Not really. we were the NL favorites in half of the previews last year, and look where we ended up :( .

yeah, true.

let's just try to forget last year altogether :)

haha

This team has almost eeriely echoed the path of the '03 team in terms of bad start, red hot afterwards, the GB in the WC....

Throw out those 2 1-run loses to the Yankees and this team seems to be on Doom God mode of late... Hell yeah, this team is PO capable...upgrade the CF spot with a proven fielder/bat and wait for Uggla to come back...Hot diggity damn!!!!
