I love Juan Pierre - but to me, he did exactly what he was capable of. I thought he would put up these numbers and that he and Castillo would work out just fine as the season went on. Remember, the 1-2 combo was supposed to be an experiment, but those who know baseball and know both these players knew what to expect with them hitting at the top of the order. Castillo was slowed by injury, and does seem to be regaining his step again. But Pierre, as great as he is, performed to his expected level - which to me is one of the top CF in the game.

That is why I have got to give it to Willis. Here is a guy who was basically an unknown when Beinfest pulled off that deal with Clement/AA last season - you know, the one that got all the conspiracists on their soapboxes. Well, not only has Willis come from out of nowhere, but he gave us a huge boost with his energy on and off the field. He re-energized our team, and I am sure got in the heads of Beckett and Penny - both vastly underachieving. And as a result of Willis getting all the pub, they picked up their games too. Not only that, but Willis has won key games - remember that matchup with the Big Unit? That helped make Willis not just a fluke, but the real deal. Not to mention an All Star in his first season. No one has had more of an impact on the fortune of this team than Willis. Whether it is just coincedence or not, it seems that this team rose when Willis showed up. And to think I thought he should stay down and we should have brought up Bump instead... :w00t

TJ, and don't try to tell me we would be in the postseason if we didn't have McKeon. A lot of you voted for J Pierre, ut I totally disagree. I think that even if we didn't have JP we could still be in the playoffs. Don't get me wrong--I think he does a lot for our club, but there are more worthy candidates. For me, it's between I'Rod and of course TJ. I-Rod also played a role of leadership, while helping the young pitchers succeed at MLB. Pierre did his part creating chaos on the basepaths, but none of that would have mattered if we didn't have Jack Mckeon!

I was hoping someone would vote for Pudge or McKeon. I personally voted for JP but Pudge is incredible. He was hated in Texas (no doubt because of his latin background) and the way he handled the pitching staff was greatly criticised. He comes here and he is a large part of our pitching success. I am not even goin to begin to talk about TJ. he is the man and he owns! period.
