November 4, 200619 yr I saw it tonight in Gainesville...sat next to 3 people at least in their 40s. Didnt matter, everyone of all ages, races, creeds, religions laughed their asses off the entire 84 minutes. How much you cost? :lol

November 4, 200619 yr Apparently Borat made $9 million yesterday at the box office, even though it is only playing in 860 theaters or so. That's very promising. Right now the projection is at least $15 million for this weekend, but it will probably be more. The film cost $18 million.

November 5, 200619 yr Only 860 theaters? What the hell? FOX had doubts that it wasn't going to catch on with mainstream audience. I read somewhere it was going to open in 1500+ screens next week. We'll see I guess. I plan on watching it tomorrow.
November 5, 200619 yr Saw it last night, the movie theatre was completly packed, everyone there was seeing Borat, so it's definatly a great success. I don't think I've ever been in a movie theater where more people were laughing so hard throughout the entire movie. Good times.

November 5, 200619 yr $26.4 mil in the movie's first weekend. Imagine how much more it would have made if it would have been truly nationwide. Borat averaged $31,511 per theater it played in, compared with just $5,784 by Santa Claus 3 (the #2 movie this weekend). It'll be expanded to 2,500 theaters this coming Friday, and some are saying that the movie has made up for Snakes on a Plane's "failures" this past August in regards to the internet being able to life a movie up on its own. Glorious success!
