August 16, 200619 yr Josh Johnson may not have the best stuff of our starters but he is our stopper for sure. He started the Marlins on the right track when he became a starter and he has been unbelievable since then. When We absolutely need a win he just steps up. I believe he may get 15 wins...If he does and wins the ERA title or if he is top 3 in the league, he will be the ROY
August 16, 200619 yr I think he has one of the best stuff of our starters. Yeah he is a stopper, but he also keeps the ERA low and 9/10 ballgames were always in them to win it. Another person that deserves consideration as a stopper is Scott Olsen.
August 16, 200619 yr What I liked most about this ghame was how the offence actually picked him up. Every other night he sat out there doing what ever it took to preserve a 1 run or so lead, he pretty much bled for his wins. This is what he needed, for the offence to pick him up from one of his worst outings and still get him the "W" :thumbup
August 16, 200619 yr JJ has been amazing so far. Eventhough he didnt have his best stuff today he kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win. Hopefully he will get a few more wins this season.

He just recently went on that roll and now has tailed off a little. He seems to have really good stuff though. Johnson has good command and locates well.

Our starting staff had a pretty solid run after the All-Star Break last month. They had nine straight quality starts from July 19 through July 29 (two from each of the rookies and one from D-Train). As far as JJ goes, he has been pretty consistent the whole season with stopping slides when need be and pitching strong when others are pitching strong. I am just glad he got out of LA with a decent outing and his 11th win after having the worst start of his career against the Dodgers earlier this month. A strong recovery.
