August 19, 200620 yr Its funny that all the starting pitchers for the Marlins have a better ERA than Josh. By pretty much 1 full run.
August 19, 200620 yr I remember how everyone was talking about him winning the Cy Young when he got off to that ridiculous start to the season.
August 19, 200620 yr Beckett has ALWAYS been overrated. 1) His career already plagued by injuries 2) He is never consistant in the strike zone 3) Because of #2, Beckett always throws way too many pitches early in the game 4) Beckett is always trying to strike everyone out rather than getting outs, thus he walks too many batters What we saw in 2003 was when Josh pitched a bit smarter, but the guy just isn't too smart and does not know how to use his talent.
August 19, 200620 yr Thank you for posting this.... the other day i wrote that he hasn't been anything special yet in his career except for the W.S. and people wanted to torch my A**.....
August 19, 200620 yr I think he's doing just fine myself... :mischief :lol Well put. I'm with you, man.
August 19, 200620 yr i dont want this happening to beckett but im glad this is happening to the red sox. everything about that team is overrated, especially the front office. they had their chance to open up a good lead in the division and now theyre paying for it. dance dance youre falling apart
August 19, 200620 yr Guess we made out pretty well in that trade so far. However, to think that Josh will stay like this I think is a bit premature.
August 19, 200620 yr those numbers aren't very impressive. but i think beckett will strive in boston.
August 19, 200620 yr Isn't he on the cover of this months ESPN Magazine with the headline something like "JOSH LOVES HIS LIFE" or some crap like that.

August 19, 200620 yr Author He's always been streaky. There is a difference between streaky and bad. 5.35 is just bad.
August 19, 200620 yr Beckett is lucky to get the run support he does otherwise he'd have already lost nearly 10 games.
August 19, 200620 yr Isn't he on the cover of this months ESPN Magazine with the headline something like "JOSH LOVES HIS LIFE" or some crap like that. I posted that article not too long ago. http://www.marlinbaseball.com/forums/index...showtopic=65275
August 20, 200620 yr I still support the Sox-Marlins trade 100%. Glad to see The Burner/FeLo/Junior has continued his anti-Beckett campaign. :thumbup
August 20, 200620 yr Josh actually quietly had a very good year for us last year, although again he missed about a month with an injury. He showed some signs of being able to truly breakout this year and I'm not ashamed to admit I thought he would.
