Yeah, I use an s-video cord personally .. just need an svideo capable video card (and tv, but thats every tv nowadays) .. and yes, the quality was pretty bad last year.

I personally have Comcast and REALLY enjoyed having Extra Innings last year and Im not sure whether or not to switch to Direct TV. Anyone have any comments on Direct TV? The setup is crap, filtering out all of the channels I don't get from the menu is a serious task, and the DVR doesn't let you flip between two shows (while being able to rewind) like my old one did. Not a fan, but I need my baseball. It's gonna cost me a couple extra bucks a month too. Not a fan. :thumbdown
February 12, 200719 yr i love directv - much more than others i have used in the past (dish, time warner, comcast, cox & wade) - if you are setting up all new service, you can do some bundling through qwest - although I added qwest after DTV so I was unable to take advantage of this

February 13, 200719 yr i've been on directv since moving to south florida in 2003. before then, we had some sucky cable deals. first was some backwoods cable in texas that we only got 20 channels, which half of them were complete garbage. then we got time warner in cali which charged a bundle for cable, and then some of the channels we liked got moved to digital cable which costs extra. in all, cable was too high. my parents were thinking about getting alphedia here, but they wanted 60 bucks a month for something we got from directv for less than that. when we first got directv, we just about had it with cable with their bad service and extra high rates and broken promises. we had directv and had very little complaints about it. we thought about dish network, but since they don't have the stations i like, we didn't do it. oh yeah, after frances, when our power came back, we had our channels right away instead of waiting for weeks like cable was. and because we had a generator after wilma, we turned on the tv and watched around the horn the same day the hurricane blew through. so i like directv over cable. cable sucks. but this deal also sucks.

February 24, 200719 yr Keep MLB Extra Innings on Cable petition even though i have directv now, i can see directv abusing it by jacking up the price of extra innings, making it less affordable for even the directv customers and nobody getting to see it. i hope they block this deal.

Im gonna probably make a game day decision like Fish4Life I personally have DirecTV and I don't know if my opinion will be any good because of the way I watch TV. However, the way I've dealt with them has been great. My house had some problems with paying the bills before I took over the payments, and they were great about transferring all the info to my name without a problem (and removing the password for the channels which no one remembered). As far as the rain goes, it does go out sometimes, but what are ya gonna do. I don't really watch many different channels, so I can't tell you how convenient that is. But everything I watch is located pretty close to each other which is a benefit.
