Hotcorner
That trade was an absolutle steal for Minnesota. Congratulations to Luis, still one of my favorite players. me too, 100%. I still think you could argue he was the greatest Marlin in franchise history, up until Cabrera now at least. I think Sandberg had the previous record at 123 straight games. Castillo's up over 130 now. Something like 600 chances without an error now.
Passion
I wonder what the most consecutive games without an error for any position is. I think Gehrig had something like 900 consecutive games without an error.

TSwift25
I've argued many times, and been torn to shreds, when all's said and done, Luis should be a fringe HOF'er.

Alex22
Castillo doesn't belong anywhere near the hall of fame. None of his offensive stats stand out. 1492 hits - not enough 155 doubles - not enough 49 triples - good stat but doesn't make you HOF worthy 23 home runs - not enough to make up for the low number of hits 599 walks - You don't make the HOF for walking 695 strike outs - He strikes out more than he walks 308 stolen bases - nice stat 125 caught stealing - 2.4 steals for every caught stealing, not a good stat .294 average - below career .300 hitter .369 OBP - not bad but not great enough to overcome his lack of other stats .358 slugging percentage - not HOF worthy He has been a serviceable second baseman with a great glove, and that is it. Passion
He'd have to get to 3K in hits because of the low OPS and power numbers like you said, and that isn't happening. Still, I'd like to hear Swift's stance/reasoning.

Still, I'd like to hear Swift's stance/reasoning. To be fair though he is only 31 years old and could play anywhere between 5 to 10 more years if he keeps his body in shape. He averages 163 hits every season he has played at least 128 games, so if he plays 7 more years at that pace he would end up with around 2,633 hits. Still not enough to overcome his other numbers though, also you have to assume he is going to lose a step and that will cost him some hits. I also don't think basing an argument around players that are already in is the way to make a compelling point.
