June 3, 200719 yr 1-2-3 first inning, struck out two. Looking good so far, can't wait to have him back.
June 3, 200719 yr Can't wait. I've always said/thought that Josh Johnson is the most talented pitcher on the staff and has true top of the rotation stuff.
June 3, 200719 yr After so long away from anything approaching the level of play in MLB, I'd like to see him at least go to AA or better AAA to get some work in rather than pronounce him ready after a few games against A ball guys. I am so not in a hurry to see him rushed back. Take your time, you have the rest of your career ahead of you.

June 4, 200719 yr Did anyone go watch him in Jupiter? I wanted to. But I had to go get service hours. :tissue anyone know the home SP for the next few home games in Jupiter? But he starts for AA on Friday.

June 5, 200719 yr So we're looking at two more minor league starts, then his return? That would be about 13 days from today (june 18).
June 5, 200719 yr If he has a good start in AA then I wouldn't be surprised if his next start is at KC on the 15th or 16th. Not to mention KC is almost a AAA team anyways.

If he flat out dominates AA I see no reason to make him have a AAA start. We already know he can dominate big leaguers, so if he shows he has the velocity back and the break on his pitches he should start vs KC.

Can't have him come back and be on a super strict pitch count, he does the team no good. He's going to be back, he's going to help us, but when he comes back he's going to be restricted in how far he's allowed to go, there's no reason to elevate that restriction in the name of one extra start.

How much is pitching on extra game in the minors going to help though? If he looks good enough to come back and feels strong enough to come back he should come back. Just my opinion.

Has to do with stamina. Its the same reason all pitchers start of slow in spring training then get their pitch count up towards the end of march. I am not sure how many pitches he threw sunday. But he could throw maybe 10 more on friday, then another 10-15 more then following start, etc...
