September 26, 200719 yr I will be mobile blogging the game tonight from the BAC at the Panthers Daily Puck. Go on over there to check it out tonight!
September 26, 200719 yr Listening to Randy Moeller and Bill Lindsay on the radio broadcast right now.
September 26, 200719 yr I got 4 suite level seats for Caps-Flyers in DC....wondering if it's worth the drive.... If any of you would go to DC for Caps-Panthers i can get tix.
September 27, 200719 yr Call me a bandwaggoner if you want, but I'm actually kind of looking forward to the Panthers season after being nearly indifferent to them the past couple of years. I mean, I did go to a couple games last year, but I didn't really care...I just went cause my friends were going. I think it's just that of all our pro teams down here this is the only one that seems to be heading in a generally positive direction. We have the Marlins and Dolphins, who are both candidates for the #1 overall pick in their upcoming drafts. We have the Heat whose #1 goal is not to get injured (#2 is to win games)...rooting for people not to get injured is kind of depressing. And then we have the Panthers who have built a nice solid core of young talent, signed said young talent to long-term contracts, made some nice offseason moves, and should finally make the playoffs for the first time in forever. I think I'm just hungry for a team down here to finally compete for something.

September 27, 200719 yr should finally make the playoffs for the first time in forever. unfortunately we Panther fans have been saying that for several years it seems.... Hopefully this is the year though. Would be just my luck that they'll make the playoffs after I move away.
September 27, 200719 yr Listening to Randy Moeller and Bill Lindsay on the radio broadcast right now. Is Billy Lindsay doing radio now for the Cats?!
September 27, 200719 yr a friend of mine told me he got a couple of tickets to any panthers game this year (i guess its a special voucher?) and that their mine if i want them. kinda excited about it, hockey games in person are a lot of fun. im not really a hockey fan but i follow the standings and playoffs and its a cool sport. hope the panthers do well this year
September 27, 200719 yr Listening to Randy Moeller and Bill Lindsay on the radio broadcast right now. Is Billy Lindsay doing radio now for the Cats?! Yes. I think Moeller sounds a bit lost doing play by play. We cant put ourselves in shorthanded situations 14 times when it counts.
September 27, 200719 yr I hope the panthers will be worth following. I am in the same boat as other people. I still watched and went to games, but more as a form of entertainment than following the panthers in the standings. Its pretty sad that the panthers havent made the playoffs since 2000.
September 27, 200719 yr Author Both teams played really sloppy games. The refs called a sloppy game too. One of the few legit penalties was the Mezei double minor. However, I have one word to say.... SMURPH!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is officially my new favorite player (after JayBo!)
September 27, 200719 yr I was there. Shutout after 1, not many scoring chances. With about 5 minutes left in the 2nd, the Trashers scored a goal. With less than a minute left in the second period, we scored an agonizing goal. Then, in the third period, things started to get really sloppy. In the whole game we had 13 penalties called on us and they had 3 or 4. They scored 2 straight goals in the same power play on a double minor for high sticking. Then, Vokoun gave up a really costly rebound and they scored the 4th one. After that I left. There were probably about 7,000 people there. Not bad for a preseason game. I really enjoyed it.

What makes a goal scored by the home team agonizing?

September 27, 200719 yr what are the lines shaping up to be this season? last night the lines were: Peltonen-Jokinen-Stumpel Booth-Weiss-Horton Campbell-McLean-Stewart Globke-Kreps-Meyer Bouwmeester-Salei Mezei-Murphy Lojek-Welch Vokoun if healthy, i think you're going to see this opening night in NY: Zednik-Jokinen-Stumpel Olesz-Weiss-Horton Peltonen-McLean-Dvorak Booth-Campbell-Stewart/Kreps/Globke Bouwmeester-Allen Van Ryn-Salei Mezei-Murphy
September 27, 200719 yr as far as the game last night: it was a terrible game to watch with the penalties. 11 powerplays for the thrashers. the panthers were simply outworked and outhustled by the thrashers for the entire game. they had alot of bubble players playing for them, though, alot of them likely were playing their guts out trying to make the team. most of the panthers last night are secure (except for lojek, kreps, stewart, globke) vokoun played incredible the first two periods. were were getting dominated pretty good and he kept it close. he fell back down to earth a bit in the third, giving up a rebound on the third goal and the fourth one, even though it was a 2-on-1, he'd probably like to have back. all in all, not alot of positives to take from last night....but it was just a preseason game so there's no real reason to get worked up.
