Things you would like to see @ the new ballpark

Featured Replies

I thought it'd be interesting to hear some of the things you would like to see at the new stadium.

I, for one, would love to see a Marlins Hall of Fame, a Jeff Conine statue in the front of the ballpark :p , a display in remembrance of the 1997 & 2003 championship clubs, and a restaurant overlooking the field.

Care to add anything?

A big Deep Sea Fishing Boat like at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa and when we hit a homerun we can reel in a Marlins lol :D Ya I no thats pretty gay.

lol. ok, more realistically..how about a big fish tank somewhere filled with Marlins?

(I'm not sure if marlins are capable of living in tanks, but that we be really cool)

I stole the idea from the Rays tank in Tropicana

Flipper, you can't train a marlin. Oh, yea, a real retractable roof and air conditioning for the afternoon games-so as not to die or worse. Skip the rag top.

Nice architecture, good restaurant.

I really hope the stay away from an overly modern "death star" design, like Lora originally wanted.

I want the team to recognize the rich minor league and ML history of South Florida prior to 1993.

I'm not too picky. Here are the two things I DEFINITELY want to see done:

The rest is just silly frou-frou stuff I can do without!

Probably need an outfield too.

we need:

the left field section facing the bullpen

the "Bermuda Triangle"

a restaurant

a Hall of Fame

some interactive games

oh...and an amazing press box!

1. Dimensions that are fair to both pitchers and hitters

2. a fish tank

3. A mechanical middle finger that sticks out when the opposing team hits a homerun

4. A bleacher section

5. A monument park with plaques of all the great marlins we were too cheap to keep

I would love a La Granjas there :)

yea! Now we are talking! Love me some La Granja chicken.

love that place! that would deffinately be a plus if we were to get that.

I was just gonna say we need nice restaurants and better food in the stadium.

I also agree with a Teal Tower version 2.

It's bad luck to have a thread like this.

party pooper.

A really low center field wall (3 ft) and immediately in back is a tank of water about 5 ft deep. Towards the back of this pool there would be fountains (like at Kauffman) that would rim the the back. So while KC, Pittsburg, Colorado have shrubery in their batter's eye we would be emphasizing Miami's water. The reason for the low center field wall is so retreating center fielder could fall over into the tank and any Jim Edmond-ian home run stealing catches instead of smashing into the walls would instead land into this pool. So the fielder would come out from the water soaked holding the caught ball up signaling a catch and be an instent Sportscenter highlight. Ala Griffey's over the wall catches.

The batter's eye pool would be sized like Kauffman's batter eye

We really do need better food. This is freakin' Miami, we need more than just the generic hot dog/pretzels/popcorn/peanuts for food. Give it some local flair.

lol. That's a little dramatic, but I would love to see a pool in the outfield similar to what they have in Arizona
