Monday Night's Dolphins Game May Be Moved

Featured Replies

According to this story on ESPN.com, Monday night's Dolphins game at San Diego may be moved because of the wildfires raging in Southern California. Possible sites include Phoenix, San Francisco, and Oakland. The NFL has not made a final decision on this, and it is not known when or if a decision will be made.

Looks like the game maybe moved to the Rose Bowl if all efforts fail with the three other NFL teams in the area.

Qualcomm Stadium employees have been told to NOt report to the stadium today/tonight to pick up their uniforms and that the NFL WILL cancel the game if LA, Oakland, Arizona and SF cannot make room for the game. It may not be rescheduled unless absolutely needed.

Let shope SOMEONE can spare the stadium for a night. The fires are not going to burn out anytime soon unfortunately.

They just said on the ESPN sunday night football broadcast, the game has offically been moved to Phoenix, Arizona. I didn't hear if they said it or not, but i'm assuming that game will be played at sun devil stadium.

It is indeed in Sundevil stadium.

I wonder how many people will show up.

I'm guessing more than the 2 or 3 dozen that show up for Cardinals games.

As a Marlins fan, it would be very hypocritical for me to laugh at that.

Oh what the hell..... :lol

This is almost a nuetral site now.

They announced tickets are free and you can also donate money for the fire fighting fund, so I'm sure there will be some people there. Hell, it's a free NFL game!

well, i'm sure the travelling fans will be predominantly chargers fans, although i dont know how many of them would want to make the trek from SD for a crappy team like the chargers. my guess is it'll be a bunch of phoenix people who don't have much to do on a monday night. what a great turn of events for us, griese better not blow this!

i think they're playing in Phoenix

yes, it's being played in the cards' stadium, whatever its called

I'm leaving in an hour to go to the game. Scored a free RT tix from SW airlines so Its a completely free game for me.

No world series for me but a free Monday night game will do for now I guess.

How far is it from San Diego to Tempe?

How far is it from New Mexico to Tempe?

They couldn't play the game in Miami for 2 reasons:

1) Madden needs to call the game and won't fly. (Like there is a plane that can carry his weight.)

2) The ABC HDTV Production Truck is all they have to cover the game with.

The also couldn't play this game in Miami because NFL rules prohibit moving a game to home of what was supposed to be the road team unless the teams play each other twice, in which case they could switch their home dates.
