Sox-Rays tonight

Featured Replies

Never in my life have I had no other choice but to get NOSEBLEED SEATS at TROPICANA FIELD. Nosebleed behind home plate for Dice K vs Kaz. This will be my first time seeing either pitcher in person. I guess being there is what counts...but I'm kind of scared of how bad the seats will be...I might have to bring binoculars.

They aren't that bad. I will be there as well. Sitting in the lower deck RF Last row. Wish Beckett was pitching.

I'll be in section 302. Upper deck behind home plate. I'd rather have your seats. But I guess it's better than watching it on tv (I hate the Rays announcers).

Go Sox! :D

I agree dude. This new Rays bandwagon is starting to really become annoying. I knew it would.

I always like to root against the establishment and witness history. Like I rooted for the Sox over the Yanks in 04 when the Yanks were the establishment. Now the "Nation" is the establishment, and it would be pretty amazing to see a franchise not only have its first winning season, but beat the establishment to win the division. That's how I feel as a baseball fan.

I am surprised by how well they are playing. Especially in a big series, I doubt they can hold on for the wildcard though

I hate the Red Sox so I'll be rooting for the Rays. ;)

Have fun!

Go Rays! I can't help but root for the team from my state. The state where they say baseball won't work.

Also, for those saying that they are sick of people jumping on the bandwagon, you guys need a reality check.

"The Nation" is the 2nd biggest bandwagon in sports, especially over the last 4 years. (#1 is the "Evil Empire", #3 is the Patriots)

I hate the Red Sox rooting for the Red Sox is like rooting for Bill Gates to make another billion

Bill Gates has donated tens of billions of dollars, so I would root for him to make more.

The Patriots are really hated outside of New England though. I think the Bronco's have a weird following throughout the country.

But Red Sox Nation is a joke, I hate new Sox fans especially the "pink hat" fans as we call them.

Even down here, when they were going to break the Dolphins undefeated record, there were still a bunch of bandwagon Patriot fans who swore they had always been there.

Rays have a huge comback in the bottom of the 7th. They have scored 6 runs so far to take a 7-4 lead.

Wow, this Rays team is for real. It's great seeing our cross-state brethren successful for once. It does, however, beg the question--Where were all these Rays fans the past 10 years?

Eh, whatever. It was the same way with the Marlins in 2003 (maybe a little bit in '97, but not as much as '03).

At least the true fans know who they are.

This, This, A Thousand times this... I have my fair share of (Devil) Rays memorabilia, from the old Greg Vaughn days and I have autographs of their players this year that I got back at USF when they did the unveiling of their new apparel, humorously, one of the autographs is Delmon Young's... I love the Rays, the Marlins are first in my heart though... and they're like the Marlins' little brothers

There have been plenty of Rays fans, but they're actually people who identify with the Tampa Bay area and have kept kinda quiet because their team has been absolute crap forever. The great thing is the many true Rays fans don't act like arrogant douches now that their team in is on top.

If you're from South Florida and you're on the Rays bandwagon, you're just weird. People from Tampa absolutely hate Miami and have no respect for the place. Tampa and South Florida are only the same state by name. The Rays are in no way your home state team if you're from South Florida.

I've lived in both Tampa and S. Fla and know several other people like that and we have no problem claiming them as our FLA teams, I don't like the NBA, but I lived in Orlando as long as I lived in Broward, so I claim the Magic/Heat equally, (though not much because I hate the NBA)...

Football is all Steelers though, by threat of death :(

I'm happy for Rays fans who have gone through a lot of suck and would love to face them in a World Series one day. I'm fine with people wanting to see them do well, but I personally want the Marlins to be the best team in the state by a longshot. I also don't think any Marlin fan from South Florida should ever think of the Rays as "their team".

I agree with this completely, but with the change that any Marlin fan, regardless of where they're from, because if you're a Marlin fan first, you're a Marlin fan first

I did just realize that one thing I ABSOLUTELY hate is referring to fan-bases by nicknames...

"Evil Empire"

"The Nation"

It's very, very stupid IMO... You're *team*'s Fans... it's that much... to make things worse.. IIRC, they've elected a "President" of Red Sox Nation... this infuriates me greatly
