Here's a new name of interest for the Dodgers: Marlins minor league third baseman Dallas McPherson. He'll be 28 soon, and carries a .287/.400/.650 line with 32 home runs in 314 Triple A at-bats. This could be the second time McPherson blasts 40 home runs in a minor league season.

That's it, nothing interesting. Just wanted to point out that this was mentioned on MLB TradeRumors.com

They can have him if they give up Russell Martin. :D

Hmmm......that would be interesting.....but unlikely

If this rumor is true, do you think McPherson and a pitching prospect could snare Hong-Chih Kuo? Lefties are hitting .225/.233/.366 against him. As a reliever, he's struck out 33 lefties as opposed to just 1 (ONE) walk to lefties in 19IP against them. His ERA against lefties is 2.84, but his Whip is only 0.89. He actually has really good numbers against righties as well (38IP 1.42 ERA/1.05 WHIP - .196/.261/.279). You could say he's even better against righties really. He seems like another Pinto, but with much better control (68K/14BB). I don't know if the Dodgers would be willing to part with him though. They do have Beimel as another lefty, but his splits against lefties are not that impressive.

Here's Kuo's stats if anyone is interested, maybe I'm not looking at the splits correctly, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

even on the marlins broadcast last night they were hinting a deal a little and saying really there may be no room for dallas if we keep some of the players.... interesting.

I would love to get something from the Dodgers for Dallas while his value might be high (I doubt it really is). Hell I would love to swap out minor league 3B and get Andy Laroche from them. Maybe a mid level minor league pitcher like James Mcdonald or Meloan.

i he doesn't have a chance to play with us pull the trigger...no use keeping him there with matt dominguez. if la somehow gives us martin for dallas and a few other players....not a bad idea....won't happen but la has traded good catchers in the past

Umm, why not move jake instead of dallas?

Jake, Rabelo, Tucker and Hernandez for Martin?

I think jake is from Cali anyway, so it would be a hometown boy coming home.

no but he wants out

Um, says who? Give me a link, and then I'll believe it. And even then I might not believe it. We are NOT getting Martin.

Jake, Hoover, Tucker, Hernandez, Sean West for Martin

Yea...the only way the Marlins are getting Martin is if we trade Hanley. So it's not going to happen. I feel stupid even talking about it right now.

Next to the Marlins, the Dodgers have one of if not the best minor league system in the league. I don't think McPherson has much of a future with us but if we don't call him up to showcase him now, he's probably not going anywhere.
