Lenny - Does he forget where he came from?

Featured Replies

i feel we have the best announcers in the game and why i say that is because they dont rag on anyone or they dont talk bad about players and i love how they love the marlins there fun!

Although they do always make jokes about the Rays announcers when ever we play the Rays. lol

Yeah, and the Rays announcers talk like that about Rich and Tommy.

As far as I can tell, it's just a little ribbing between friends.

What is so wrong with with what he said? No matter if theyre delusional or not, Cubs fans were booing Uggla because of his all-star game performance because they feel they can make the World Series and he couldve cost them home field. Whether or not this arguemnt has any merit, it is a fact they were booing. Even Rich and Tommy pointed this reasoning out.

Basically Cubs fans are farm animals who have been encouraged to breed among their own.

I came to that conclusion in October 2003 watching two fathers encouraging their already drunk twelve year old kids to taunt an elderly couple all decked out in Marlins gear for the about three innings until they left under threat of death.

Game six was only the beginning of the retribution that the Marlins have rained down on the Cubs since. Let's hope it continues for at least another hundred years.

Don't forget in today's game after Lou got ejected, they littered the outfield with garbage.

Honestly though on the Len Kasper thing, I think the Cubs instruct their announcers to be as homer-ish as possible. I say this because I remember when Chip Caray used to do the Cubs games, and came off as an awful unbearable homer. Then he switched to Atlanta, and hearing him on TBS he was a thousand times more tolerable and fair towards other teams.

Thats how some organizations are though, they instruct you to broadcast the game the way they want it, and the Cubs obviously want their announcers to be gigantic homers. The Marlins fortunately are a lot more lenient with their announcers, which leads you to some of Tommy Huttons great remarks which will at times come at the expense of the home team. The result is, if you're an opposing fan watching the Marlins broadcast, they probably won't piss you off as much. Which is funny, considering the Cubs are the ones with nationally broadcast games.

One other thing I've noticed, Dave O'Brien always gives the Marlins a little extra love in ESPN broadcasts, he'll always be the first to remind people of them when discussing the NL East race, or bring up a Marlins player when discussing some of the best at a position (like Hanley at short). I haven't seen much Boog since he left, so not sure about him.

Does anyone else think this thread is about Lenny Harris every time they see the title?

That was my first instinct, but then I don't know where he came from either... he played for like 10 different teams didn't he?

LMAO...Yes, I admit it...I thought I was the only one :D

Raises hand. I was shocked to see a title which looked to be about Lenny Harris badmouthing the Marlins.

Speaking of Lenny Harris, wouldn't you just love to have another "Hit Machine" on the roster for the last two three months of the season? I know I would.

Absolutely! "Lenny" has to be Lenny Harris. Len Kasper is not Lenny!

yea thats wat i rememeber when i hear lenny

Personally I think Rich Waltz is much better than Kasper ever was (and I was a Len fan when he was with the Marlins).

Sure, the Marlins don't have the brilliance of a Vin Scully, but I love Waltz's friendly tone and I think Hutton knows the game pretty damn well.

The Marlins have had some pretty good commentators over the years but Rich Waltz will always be a personal favorite of mine.

I concur. They make a great duo, very goofy but in a good way. And they're respectful when talking about other teams.

Nah. I think Rich is awesome. I agree that him and Tommy make a great duo, but he's not Len. Len was the man.
