August 1, 200818 yr Fish crush the Rockies 12-2! Anibal Sanchez, one of the Marlins most successful young pitchers made his first major league start in over a year Thursday night, coming back from shoulder surgery. He sure didn't disappoint. Anibal looked impressive pitching a solid 5 2/3 innings giving up just 6 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking just 2. The bats were alive tonight as well, the Fish pounded out 12 hits scoring 12 runs, most of which were off of Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa who didn't last 2 innings as he gave up 5 hits and 7 runs while walking 4. Hermida had no problem brushing off the Manny trade rumors as he went 3-5 with 2 singles, a double and 2 RBI's.
August 1, 200818 yr Today was all about Anibal and Jeremy. Awesome comeback, and an awesome statement. One guy says "I'm back", the other says "I'm here to stay, and you won't regret it". I love it.
August 1, 200818 yr anibal welcome back! can;t wait for his n ext start against the sillies! i love the hermie being hermie quote lol
August 1, 200818 yr Author Today was all about Anibal and Jeremy. Awesome comeback, and an awesome statement. One guy says "I'm back", the other says "I'm here to stay, and you won't regret it". I love it. It was great seeing them both successful, I am very happy!
August 1, 200818 yr It's good to see it looks like Anibal and Josh Johnson are both back for good and seem to have their stuff. I was worried Joe Girardi had ruined them forever for a while. If those two hold up, you guys have a great shot obviously with all that offense to go with it.

Haha man I think Joe gets a little too much heat for what happened with those guys, I maybe blame JJ on him but not Anibal.
August 1, 200818 yr Awesome game! Lets just hope Anibal can go back to his old form and Jeremy can stay hot for the rest of the year. GO FISH!

I voted Anibal, but you touched on what I was going to say... Jeremy showed why he is here, why he is in the big leagues, and where he wants to be. maybe it wasn't a walk off win, but it was a special win
August 1, 200818 yr Huge game for both Anibal and Hermida. Great to see that Jeremy is starting to get really hot and that he's still around
August 1, 200818 yr I wish there was an "all of the above" option for the poll, but I had to go with Anibal. The fact that he would even want to come back to this game after expirencing such personal tragedy makes him a hero right there, let alone comming back from injury/surgery and comming back looking DAMN good in his first MLB start in 15 months. Amazing job Anibal, glad to have you back!

August 1, 200818 yr I'd also like to add how amazing Justin Miller pitched today going 2.1 innings giving up only 1 hit with 3 k's. I'd definitely like to see more of that from him.
August 1, 200818 yr The three starting pitchers that have joined the team in the last month or so (Volstad, JJ, and Anibal) are arguably much better than our two Aces this season, Nolasco and Olsen. This will become the rotation to beat from here on out.
August 1, 200818 yr I like hermie, I think it's funny :lol It makes me think of a hermit crab

One interesting stat about J Miller is that he has now come into 25 games with runners on and 22 of those times no one has scored. Today the bases were loaded and he got out of it without allowing a run.
August 1, 200818 yr I like hermie, I think it's funny :lol It makes me think of a hermit crab  It makes me think of Hermie Sadler... But that could be because I'm a redneck. Heck I'm probably the only dude on here who's heard of him.
