September 15, 200817 yr espn link WTF? Tied for the wildcard lead and you can your manager? I hope there's more to the story than that. Okay they've lost 7 of 10, but Yost helped bring that team back to respectability. Unbelievable.
September 15, 200817 yr Unless a story comes out that Yost is a raging alcoholic axe murderer, this is a really really piss poor move.
September 15, 200817 yr SWEET! Our chances of winning the wild card are now up to 1.23%!!! Seriously though, I would have understood this at the beginning of the year when all the Brewers fans were screaming "FIRE NED", but now?..... WOW.
September 16, 200817 yr This makes about as much sense as firing Joe Maddon would. Firing Maddon would make lots of sense. Who wants a manager with such nerdy glasses? :mis2
September 16, 200817 yr what the hell else do you expect doug melvin to do? yost's team collapsed last year too. they pick up CC, trade away a really nice prospect for him, announce they are going for it, had a really nice lead for most of the way and then collapse even worse this year. it was obvious they werent going anywhere but golfing in two weeks with yost, so you have to hope you can turn it around with someone else.
September 16, 200817 yr I just about spilt my coffee when I picked up the sports section.... Are these guys nuts? I can't imagine what purpose this serves. Maybe it was done because you can't fire the players responsible for the collapse.

Maybe it was done because you can't fire the players responsible for the collapse. again. with yost, you are done in 2 weeks. firing him and maybe you can find a way to get in.
September 16, 200817 yr stupid knee jerk reaction and a slap in the face to Yost's 6 years in Milwaukee... I'd go on a rampage if I was him... stupid desperation...
September 16, 200817 yr Lebatard or however you spell his name on 790 said he talked to a brewers player a few weeks ago and all the players hated him. Hes apperently one of those mangers thats real uptight ablout lots of little crap. I gues the FO there thought maybe the guys were playing tight and need to loosen up.

Yost does seem like that kind of guy, that is most likely why he was fired. Just crazy to see a team tied for the lead in the WC doing this with only 12 games left to play. Usually no managers are fired after the trade deadline imo, this is pretty unprofessional of the FO i believe, to keep a manager with a team all year long, and u have him lead the team to the lead in the WC, u don't expect to be fired with only 12 games left. This is ALMOST as bad as a manager getting fired at 3 AM at the beginning of a road trip (if u know what i mean :shifty )
September 17, 200817 yr omg Marlins should sign him since we hate Fredi so much holy sh*t to think of it my marlins team has yost as our head coach lol Dumb move by the Brewers escpecially in a playoff race you See Houston get no hit and shut out and then almost ge shut out again and they dont fire there coach same with the Rays Boston and The Twins
September 19, 200817 yr the brew crew are done ... sad, I really liked that team and if in the playoffs there would have been no better 1-2 punch than CC and Sheets but there was not much you could have done, it was a desperation move, granted, I would have done as soon as the season was over but at least you are giving it a chance. It worked for the mets earlier in the year.
