Maybin starting, leading off

Featured Replies

I had just posted this (merged the threads):

Tempering the win was the fact that Ramirez was removed in the fifth inning with a strained left shoulder. He is listed as day to day, and he hopes to play on Thursday in the series finale.

Ramirez said he felt pain on the swing, but he initially tweaked his shoulder in the third inning while diving for Miguel Tejada's single up the middle.

"Hopefully, not even one game," Ramirez said, when asked if he will miss any time. "I'm day to day. I'll see how it feels tomorrow when I come to the ballpark."

In his third at-bat, the 24-year-old swung through a 2-2 Jack Cassel changeup, striking out. On the swing, Ramirez winced as the bat came out of his left hand.

On Oct. 3, 2007, Ramirez underwent arthroscopic surgery on the same shoulder to repair a labrum tear.

Cause for concern? Should he continue to play? Your thoughts.

Big game tonight (if anyone still believes). Maybin playing in hanleys lineup spot. I like the drama. Tonight is a huge chance for maybin to show he's a gamer. If Olsen can keep the Astros bats as silent as they have been, there should not be much pressure on Maybin and the rest of the boys. Lets get some runs, keep them off the board, and slide closer to that WC spot. :shifty

Damn it we cant just win series any more we need hanley ahh well we better just win and hanley better be ready for the phils series.

This is one of those situations u take the good wit the bad. Its sad to see Hanley injured, but we do get to see what we have in Maybin, sadly now that the brewers lost, no is the time we need Hanley starting the most

espcailly with the way hes been swinging the bat.

What are the odds SpiderMaybin crushes a leadoff homer then swings up to the Jumbotron after circling the bases.......

I would go with Raynor, Gaby Sanchez, Hanley.

Then...

4. Cantu

5. Uggla

6. Maybin

7. Hermida

8. Baker / RH platoon catcher vs. lefties

I think it's too early to tell what the kid can do. Tonight he showed signs of being something great. I hope he continues to contribute and be the player everyone thinks he is. I certainly hope he does well!

How awesome is it to watch him run the bases? That right arm of his swinging around like hes shooting spidermaybin web to help him cut the bases. So much fun to watch.

Totally agree with you! I was at the game last night and I was just watching him fly around the bases. He's got incredible speed, but I'm sure one of the coaches will work with him over the offseason on his baserunning technique.

lmao!!!!

I've told this story about Maybin, but I'll tell it again.

I went to the first ST game this year and Maybin was in the lineup. In one of his AB, he hit a high pop-up around second base. So the entire stadium followed the ball up and then back down. When we looked down, there was Maybin rounding second base! He scared the hell out of the 2B as well, noone expected him to be there. That kid flies.

damn thats good stuff

he scored on some close plays last night i wanna see him steal a base though

he has the potential to put up 20 20 20 20(HR'S STEALS Triples Doubles) seasons maybe even 30 30

I think hell be even faster on a dry field, last night he had to worry about footing.

Maybin starts in CF and leads off again tonight.

NICE! is hanley ramirez playing? If he is, id love to see this line up used at least once this series:

1.Maybin

2.Baker

3.Hanley

4.Uggla( or Jacobs)

5.Cantu

6.Jacobs( or Uggla)

7.Ross

8.Hermida
