Don't want to burst ur bubble Eddie, but the Dodgers were favorites to win the division by a large amount this year, they have underachieved, and without a doubt the manager of the year is Lou Pinella, because in reality there is no deserved NL manger of the award this year, even our own Fredi Gonzalez is unworthy.

But back on topic, yeah the Dodgers did underperform, Kemp, Eithier, Martin, and a good, young upcoming pitching staff was supposed to dominate this year. A lot of those players underperformed, the Dodgers did not play up to their potential until they got Ramirez, and even then there only good hitter was Ramirez, but the pitching staff did begin to deliver, but yeah they underacheived most of the year

Actually...Eddie is right, in that regard. The DBacks were favored to win the division by many b/c they had Webb and Haren.

Regardless, Torre doesn't deserve to be NL Manager of the Year...not even close.

In the pre-season most experts were looking at Arizona and a team you seem to have forgotten called the Rockies to go neck in neck, San Diego was the the other team to compete. The Dodgers were on very few people radars

LOL!

That's all I'm going to say about this...lol.

And I will elaborate. You think a guy deserves MOTY because the bats finally came alive, and the FO was able to acquire Manny Ramirez? That was all the players, if you want a manager of the year look elsewhere.

IMO he has done wonders to keep the team in the playoff race. Manny became the hottest player in the Universe, however Torre did what he does best he brought this team together and got the most out of his players...btw isn't that why many here are on Fredi's jock?

Have you ever watched a game where actual managing, in game, is involved with Joe Torre? He is lost-as his abysmal record away from the Yankees(and with the Yankees, in NL parks with NL rules) clearly illustrates. He earned the nickname "Clueless Joe" for a reason.

Yes...he looked like...every other manager in baseball.

And made moves like...every other manager in baseball.

You're right...Joe Torre is overrated. Then again, every manager in baseball is overrated.

So we should go without managers right? I mean they make no difference at all, might as well have the bat boy call the game.

As long as the bat boy doesn't tell them to bunt.
