October 23, 200817 yr http://insider.espn.go.com/espn/blog/index...%3dolney_buster according to ESPN: The Tigers could theoretically dangle Magglio Ordonez in trade talks in an effort to get pitching, coming off a year in which Ordonez batted .321 with 21 homers and 103 RBIs. But Ordonez is due to make $18 million next year, and he will turn 35 in January at a time when the industry has become extraordinarily skeptical about the ability of players to consistently produce into their late 30s. anyone slightly interested? he could replace willingham in left or play RF while cody plays left....he is kinda old tho...and 18 mil is a chit load...but who knows?
October 23, 200817 yr Ordonez is due to make $18 million next year That's the deal breaker right there.
October 23, 200817 yr A package of Ordonez and a certain Miguel Cabrera would get me interested lolol
October 23, 200817 yr Is A-Rod on the block? He could be a great addition. Could be part of a deal so that Madonna regularly performs at the Super Saturdays.....
October 23, 200817 yr Is A-Rod on the block? He could be a great addition. Could be part of a deal so that Madonna regularly performs at the Super Saturdays..... Yeah, now that Guy Ritchie is out of the way.
October 23, 200817 yr I say we offer them Andrew Miller for Miguel Cabrera plus they pay half his salary...
October 23, 200817 yr We generally field teams that make as much collectively as he does in one year.
October 23, 200817 yr Are we seriously going to make a thread on every player that's on the trading block and pretend we're going to get them?
October 23, 200817 yr Is A-Rod on the block? He could be a great addition. I don't know how legit those "part ownership" things were when A-Rod was an FA but Jesus God thing would have been awesome.
October 23, 200817 yr Is A-Rod on the block? He could be a great addition. I don't know how legit those "part ownership" things were when A-Rod was an FA but Jesus God thing would have been awesome. Well, Super Saturday concerts would have featured Madonna for one.
October 23, 200817 yr Also, Barry Bonds is still a FA just sayin' and still is only asking for the ML Minimum... e.g. less than Gonzo :mischief Just sayin'
October 23, 200817 yr If they wanted to pay his salary, I'd gladly send them Hermida, Hammer, Gregg, and maybe even a younger SP. I'd take Barrig?n in LF too if he was affordable.
October 23, 200817 yr I say we offer them Andrew Miller for Miguel Cabrera plus they pay half his salary... i wish
October 23, 200817 yr Like I said, fans can dream all they want, although I would not want an aging OF'er for 18 million bucks. We could sign Uggla and package off some of that money with Olsen to get one of Texas' big 3 catchers.
October 24, 200817 yr I would ask them about Justin Verlander or Jeremy Bonderman (like their avaliable though lol). But the one that I would seriously ask about is Brandon Inge. He is a trumendous player. He can catch and play third base, so he could be a great utility player. Or maybe we can trash Jacobs, move Cantu to first, and put Inge at third. He would just be a great addition to this team. But as for Maggs? I doubt that the fish would even think about him. Too old and too much money.
October 24, 200817 yr Inge: 09:$6.3M, 10:$6.6M next. Don't forget the .680 OPS he has his last 950 PA.
October 26, 200817 yr Not saying we are going to get him but im sure he'd love to come becasue of the main reason that his son and wife live in Las Olas(I played with his son last season and they look exactly alike). But if we had the money or the Room for him i would love to have Mags as a part of the team he is such a good hitter and can back up his talk with that silver slugger.
