Tues vs Dominican Republic

Isn't Leo Nunez on the Dominican team, as well?

He wasn't mentioned as one of the six Marlins competing in the Classic. I believe they are Hanley, Cantu, Amezaga, VandenHurk, Lindstrom and someone who's name is alluding me right now. I'm not sure if Hanley will be playing for the DR on Tuesday but I know players are supposed to report to their teams on Monday.

The other in Linuex for Team Canada... I dont think nunez is pitching

Well the game is right now and Hanley is playing DH while Reyes is SS. If I were the team coach, judging how hes been playing these ST games (which I'm fully aware don't count for anything as most say) I wouldn't want him at SS.

BTW Jeremy hit his 3rd HR of ST.

Yeah Tank pretty much blew his chance. Doesn't look like he'll live up to his potential.

Why? Because he got killed by an All-Star lineup in spring training?

Gotta love spring training

BTW, Matt Linstrom earns the save against the Yanks. He did give up 1 run but held on to a 6-5 Team USA win

Good for the Marlins: Hanley was ripping (even though it was for DR) and Hermida was hitting well also. McPherson hit a homer in my book, as his shot to left easily goes if not hit high and directly into a very stiff breeze.

Bad for the Marlins: With the exception of the first two innings for the most part, the DR hitters absolutely loved everything they saw. Every swing off of Tucker resulted in a line shot ... they just didn't start falling until his third inning of pitching BP. Tankersley couldn't miss the fat part of the bat either.

But he did and it was. It was an out in my book.

I was there for the first couple innings before I had to leave. Biggest thing I noticed is that Baker still hasn't learned how to block a pitch in the dirt. He's putting his glove down fine but he's also raising his body at the same time. That dosen't allow the glove to ever reach the ground and the ball will ultimately get by him. But of course it's in the dirt, so it's a wild pitch and not a passed ball. A decent defensive catcher and De La Cruz dosen't get slammed with a wild pitch, it would have been a bad pitch blocked.

How did De La Cruz look? I just checked the boxscore and saw he actually started the game for the Fish. Looks like two solid innings of scoreless baseball from the boxscore.

Control looked questionable. But he sure is a confident pitcher. Went right after guys, just was having a hard time finding the strike zone at times. 53 pitches in two innings. And what the box score dosen't show is that Uggla made a sensational horizontal catch of a sure single of Hanley's and that Maybin made a fine catch of one tailing back and away from him in the wind. 2 very nice plays that saved runs. But all in all, I would say not bad for his first start.

Both those catches were after DLC was out of the game.

You sure?? I was only there for 2 1/2 innings. But I suppose you could be right. I had alot going on that day and was lucky just to be able to see as much as I did.
