Posted April 17, 200916 yr YOUR Florida Marlins (8-1) at the Nationals (1-7) Carlos Enrique Nolasco(1-1) vs John Edward Lannan(0-2) TV: FS-F RADIO: WAXY 790, WAQI 710
April 17, 200916 yr Author Friday, April 17 Tickets Nationals Park | 7:05 PM ET FLA Ricky Nolasco, RHP (1-1, 7.36) Marlins (8-1) @ WSH John Lannan, LHP (0-2, 10.00) Nationals (1-7) Scouting Report: Marlins: Nolasco came into his Saturday outing with a 6.27 career ERA against the Mets, and those struggles continued when he gave up four runs on seven hits through five innings. The 26-year-old right-hander, who went 15-8 with a 3.52 ERA last season, has given up nine runs in 11 innings to start the season. On Saturday, Nolasco threw 87 pitches -- 54 for strikes -- and had his pitch count at 65 after four innings. Nationals: In his last start, Lannan pitched six innings and gave up four runs on nine hits against the Braves. He was given a 3-0 lead by the middle of the third inning against right-hander Kenshin Kawakami. But Lannan would give up the lead by the bottom of the fourth inning, no thanks to the left-handed-hitting Kelly Johnson and Jordan Schafer. To the surprise of manager Manny Acta, Lannan threw almost nothing but fastballs to Johnson and Schafer, and they ended up going a combined 5-for-7 against him. Acta wanted to see Lannan throw more breaking balls to those two hitters. http://florida.marlins.mlb.com/news/probab...rs.jsp?c_id=fla
April 17, 200916 yr Rab, you should edit that photo every time Ricky faces a new opponent. Like for today it should be 'If OPP = WAS, execute' , and next it should be 'If OPP = PIT, execute', etc.
April 17, 200916 yr Carlos Nolasco shall give me fantasy points tonight with a W. :cool  We're 8-1, and Nolasco has a 7.36 ERA in his first 2 starts. Hanley's .OPS is also below what it normally is for him. Good stuff.
April 17, 200916 yr Another 3 homer game for us like opening day. Hopefully ricky doesn't make any mistakes to dunn with men on.

Hanley's .OPS is also below what it normally is for him. Good stuff. I mean, I agree, but Uggla's hitting .323, and Cantu's getting on base out of his mind. He does seem to be a bit more patient this year, which I hope lasts, but he obviously won't keep up that pace either. I do think the staff has the potential to have maybe 4 ERAs sub-4, but that'll be very tough over a full season.
April 17, 200916 yr we need to play verywell national want kill us after sweep here in miami And I want to make the major league minimum, but nobody's signing me anytime soon...

It's nice to know that we've won 8 of 9, and yet some of our best players have underachieved, thus far.  While we can expect Uggla, Cantu, and Bonifacio to go down, we can also expect Hanley, Cody, and even Maybin to go up.

Like for today it should be 'If OPP = WAS, execute' , and next it should be 'If OPP = PIT, execute', etc. The whole thing is obviously a computer prgramming reference, and the joke at the end turns on the fact that Nolasco does not do well against the Mets, with the usage of "!" in computer languages meaning "not" In other words, Nolasco will "execute" as long as the opponent is NOT the Mets. You just got pwn3d, |\|()()8
