April 19, 200916 yr we already had a really long thread about our hate for Bo Porter. Find it and you get a cookie
April 19, 200916 yr This thread was made a few innings too soon. WHY DIDN'T HE SEND HIM??? f*** that, Amezaga was safe twice, 5-3 game.
April 19, 200916 yr Also, Emilio "I Can't Hit" Bonifacio was up next. Â You send him there, and even though he was called out and was actually safe twice, it's not a bad move. The ump blew the call, not Bo Porter.
April 19, 200916 yr Kearns has a great arm and the ball beat him by a wide margin. He's supposed to assume Kearns is going to throw a strike off balance after making a terrible play on the ball?
April 19, 200916 yr I gotta agree with Bobbob. Can't blame Bo (and I blame Bo all the time) because the ump blew the call.
April 19, 200916 yr Sending Amezaga was the right call. 1. There were 2 outs. 2. Bonifacio was on deck. 3. Kearns had to throw a perfect strike, off balanced.  I said it in the gamethread, I'll say it here. I don't agree with Bo a lot, but I agreed with the move, today.

With the way Boni has been hitting, being on the road, you gotta send Mez on that one.

April 19, 200916 yr I've said it before, and I will say it again. I want my 3rd base coach to be known as windmill.

April 20, 200916 yr 12 games into the season and finally a "I hate Bo" thread. Sending Amazega was the right choice. As has been his choices all year so far. Players are rounding 2B, looking for him and taking his advice. More so this year than any other year he has been over there. BTW I can't remember one 3B coach that has ever gotten any love from the fans. Not one. Ever. If he is doing a good job, he never gets mentioned. Send one guy that gets thrown out, and he's the worst 3B coach in all of baseball. Fans know it all and aren't afraid to display their superior baseball knowledge at the drop of a hat. Next up for the bashing.... Andy Fox.

Also, if Amezaga is called safe no one says anything about Bo there.
April 20, 200916 yr I think sending Alfredo was the right choice. You just tied the game, the Nats are on the ropes, Kearns was bobbling the ball a bit, and you have the swifty Double A on the basepaths. Sucks that the call didn't go our way, but in the end, we won. If I had to get on a 3rd base coach, it would have to be the Nats' because they had the bases loaded a bunch of time and could only score one run off the singles. Your team just blew 2 games, you gotta press a little to try to get that knockout blow. Of course, that's why I am in the stands and they are in the coach's box.

When you have guys like Adam Dunn are on the basepaths and balls are hit which require hesitation due to the chance to be caught, you can't really blame him.

I was just wiping my brow after each bases loaded hit, thanking the baseball gods that only one run could come around to score.
April 20, 200916 yr A young lady friend of mine (hot) was sitting behind home plate and Bo Porter came over and handed her a phone number. She assumed he was passing it on behalf of one of the players, but it turned out to be his own digits! Â I bet he has a huge egoÂ

Reminds me of the Daryl Strawberry stuff - between-innings you-know-whats.
April 20, 200916 yr That's crazy. Reminds me of the Daryl Strawberry stuff - between-innings you-know-whats. Jeez... I hadn't read this stuff before. Although he doesn't name names, Strawberry relates how team members picked out girls from the stands for quickies. He once watched a pitcher march a frisky fan to a private room for oral sex: "I was jealous. When I saw her heading back to her seat, I gave her a sign. She smiled, turned right back around, and met me in that same little room . . . I had to be quick and run back out on the field." Another time, "I was in the clubhouse, having one last quickie with this cute little Florida girl. Charlie Samuels, the equipment manager, came in and caught us. He just stood there shaking his head while I finished up." :lol  article
