Yeah it must have sucked for that fan but I don't feel bad for him. It's just a game. Honestly what did he expect outta the bats this year.

I knewe were coming back today! rofl the funniest thing was them showing that Nats fan every 2 seconds. Cody is dA Man! :notworthy 11-1 what a start! and hopefully it's the start of better things to come :thumbup :marlins :gofish

I guess I don't feel much sympathy for the "old" Nats fan.....We've been there.....last thing I wanted was someone feeling bad for me....

I do admire him though....It seemed like he was there till the last out....many fans would have got up and left to "beat the traffic".....he stuck around :thumbup

Good news for the nats: we dont play them till July

Late June, but that's still sad news.

i meant sad for us

good for them

they gotta have some bright news dont they?

OMG!!!! Pigs fly !!!! Krukie just jumped on the bandwagon big time saying everything about the Fish you thought you'd never hear pass his lips. I amazed...

Okay, John Kruk sounded so excited extolling the virtues of the Marlins on Sportscenter that I expected him to spit up some of his lunch.

Really really nice praise for our club. Said that they absolutely have staying power, and the Mets and Phillies have dug themselves a hole which they may never get out of. Wow.

And even though Dari Nowkah (sp?) said something about attendance, it didn't really even seem like a dig on the team. He said something like "Now let's just get some people down there to watch them." Seemed more like encouraging fans to go out and watch their very hot and very exciting team.

So, what's the over/under for Hours Until Manny Acta is Fired?

If they get swept by the Braves, this Thursday is an offday for them. That's a good spot for a change.

I went to the game today with my girlfriend. First time at Nationals Park for the both of us. I have to say it is very nice looking. We sat on the third base side, near the foul pole. Volstad was warming up right there and I took a few nice pictures.

I was hoping the Marlins would jump out in front first so we wouldn't have to play catch up. Walks almost killed us in this game. The Nats were hitting the ball okay, I think they only hit singles, but Volstad and some of the pen loved to walk the batters, especially when they was already somebody on first.

But hey, it didn't kill us and Volstad was, as one may say, effectively wild. When we got down 2-0 in the first inning, my girlfriend (who is only a fan through me) was like "Oh well, we are just waiting for the ninth inning." I was thinking "Karma will come back and we won't be able to find that magic this game." But I was gleefully wrong! All I was hoping for was a little chipping away and we responded well, after the 2-0 lead. Everytime we would draw within one and the Nats would add one, we would come back. And the Nats didn't have that killer instinct/hit, when they had those many opportunities with the bases loaded.

Ross's HR in the top of the eigth sent my girlfriend and I cheering (I think she is in love with Ross and Baker now). Uggla's error made me cringe. But wow, the 9th? The booing started from the stands as Bonafacio scored (who, after a O-fer at the plate drew an important walk) and then continued when the bases were loaded ad Ross's double. I was surprised they pitched to Hanley with first base open, but I guess that tells you no one is quite scared of him yet. But I think his and Uggla's at bats were good ones despite their respective strikeouts. They were working Riveria.

All in all, a great day, one of the rare times I wanted to and got to stay to the end of a game, but with the way things were going for the Fish against the Nats how could one not stay? It was cold and windy, but worth it.

In case you were wondering, Jeremy is hitting .300/.451/1.051 so far.

The human bust walking at the major league level is so sexy.

And Mike Stanton went 5/5 in Jupiter today, hitting his 3rd HR in the process. He's batting .417 early on. Unstoppable.

Actually .417 means he's stopped 68.3% of the time, not unstoppable. :thumbup

All in good fun, and turnabout is fair play. :p
