April 20, 200917 yr Something important I want to point out. While our bullpen has been great, remember the same thing happened last year. Our bullpen got off to a fantastic start and I'm pretty sure had a similar run of scoreless innings pitched ... but later in the year, the more they worked, the worse they seemed to get. We're only 12 games in and while I'm ecstatic with their performance thus far, let's just wait and see how they fare after a larger body of work because I hope they're able to hold this up most of the way.
April 20, 200917 yr I'm not too surprised by anything other than their record. The bullpen has done allright but other than Nunez have looked hittable. Hermida is starting to live up to his potential I guess. Everybody's doing what they're supposed to do. Hanley's not hitting in the the 3 hole - is that a surprise?- I don't know. I guess Pailino's prowess against lefties was known but I'm glad to see it wasn't just hype.
April 20, 200917 yr The bullpen and their record (credit to Puma for this cleverness). Nothing else is shocking. Just a bunch of good things happening to a talented squad around the same time.
April 20, 200917 yr I remember somebody saying that if all our key players stayed healthy then we'd have a pretty reasonable chance to contend so I'm not really surprised at anything except the record. I mean come on we would have been happy with 8-4!! Now the key to the season is how is the manager gonna adjust to the up's and down's of a season because it is clear that the FO will do what it can to improve here and there. SO now what we gonna do when Emilio and Maybin struggle to hit leadoff? The best reason for hope is that Sanchez and Miller seem to at least be serviceable at the 4&5 spots where they can get some easy matchups. We looking good though and I'm all smiles

Well the pen went bad last years because we had to use them way to often due to our lack of quality starts. If our SP can get back on track the pen should be fine.
April 20, 200917 yr Hanley's awesome start and then his funk. The Bullpen, they have all contributed nicely. Our record. Never say die attitude and proving the naysayers wrong is awesome.
April 20, 200917 yr 1. How steady the defense has been generally. 2. The bullpen and the way Fredi has used them (a thumbs up to him not a put down of the past). 3. That two of the three guys at the top of lineup are performing so poorly offensively and yet we keep winning. 4. That Maybin is struggling as much as he has (although his contact is improving and that's a good sign).
April 20, 200917 yr The Pen, especially Lindstrom, who in his first outing against the Nats on the 3rd game almost reminded me of Jorge Julio and how '07 started. Also this offence that actually gives me confidence that we can pull it out in the late innings if we are down. Overall the Offence and Bullpen success gives me the "we can always pull a comback" feeling, something I haven't felt since the run in mid '06
April 20, 200917 yr Just the record. I expected the Marlins to be on of the NL's best teams, but baseball is not a sport where one maintains a .917 winning %

April 20, 200917 yr Bullpen and how cameron hasnt gotten it going yet i thought he was gonna start the year hot i just gotta be more patient
April 20, 200917 yr Most surprising thing? That nobody has bumped Retro's "We need another outfielder" thread.
April 20, 200917 yr What has surprised me? Their ability to keep momentum going. Both in the late innings heroics, and in their winning streaks. Also, they are winning with Hanley only being lukewarm.
