April 25, 200917 yr anyone following the draft today? Jets just traded up to take Cleveland's #5 pick and snagged Mark Sanchez.
April 25, 200917 yr Author Raiders with maybe the biggest reach so far at #7... WR Darrius Heyward-Bey. Supposedly the fastest wideout in the draft but no way the best overall. I'm thrilled as a Jags fan however because Crabtree's now available if they want him at #8.
April 25, 200917 yr Heyward-Bey over Crabtree? Wow, Al Davis. Wow. It's not that wow... Heyward-Bey has the speed Crabtree doesn't... it's a speed vs possession deal... I think the speed benefits Russell's arm better.
April 25, 200917 yr Author Jags take OT Monroe.... should help, their O line was decimated last season. They've drafted so many WR busts over the years they're probably scared to take another WR in the first round. Was kinda hoping for Raji though.
April 25, 200917 yr Why are so few of the players in New York this year? I was shocked that someone like Mark Sanchez, who was a guaranteed top 10 pick, is still in CA.
April 25, 200917 yr Why are so few of the players in New York this year? I was shocked that someone like Mark Sanchez, who was a guaranteed top 10 pick, is still in CA. I think Sanchez wanted to be with his family/agent at home.
April 25, 200917 yr I think the Patriots take James Laurinitis here with the 23rd pick. he's such a Bilichick player. I want to see the Dolphins take one of the USC linebackers or Everette Brown

April 25, 200917 yr Hopefully Freeman becomes the franchise QB the Buccs have been lacking for like forever. Can't say a QB was top of the need list but I guess we will just have to wait and see how it turns out.
April 25, 200917 yr I'm 50/50 on Vontae. He has the talent and is durable but he also seems to be a bit of a head case according to ESPN's and Scott Wright's scouting reports. It should be interesting to see if he clashes with Sparano and Parcells at some point. If he keeps himself together he could be a heck of a player.
April 25, 200917 yr I'm very happy with Mark Sanchez. He'll have no trouble beating out Kellen Clemens and will start this season IMO
April 26, 200917 yr I wonder if Parcells is thinking of grooming White into a HB? He ran well over 600 times in his college career. He's undersized at QB but would have good size at HB. Even if he doesn't get much playing time this year, Ricky isn't a spring chicken anymore. Could be a good pick in the long run. We've already got two burners at WR.
April 26, 200917 yr Someone like Pat White is going to make the Wild Cat very hard to defend for opposing Defensive Coordinators. Oh I can't wait!
April 26, 200917 yr Dolphins take CB Sean Smith 61st overall. I absolutely love this pick, he's a monster.
April 26, 200917 yr Dolphins take CB Sean Smith 61st overall. I absolutely love this pick, he's a monster. I love the pick as well. I had him projected to go to the Titans at #30, so to get him at #61 is great value. The only thing that would've made this draft better was to get Everette Brown at that #44 spot. Damn Panthers and them trading up
April 26, 200917 yr ITA about Sean Smith, love this pick. LMFAO at the Jest giving up all that they gave up to draft a future-bust like Sanchez.
April 26, 200917 yr Why are so few of the players in New York this year? I was shocked that someone like Mark Sanchez, who was a guaranteed top 10 pick, is still in CA. Wanted to be with his grandmother who is 92? And she can not fly.
April 26, 200917 yr Seems like a good first day of the draft. We still need more wide receivers, however. Are the Dolphins not in the running for Anquan Boldin at all? He would fit a major need for this team.
April 26, 200917 yr Loved every pick of the Dolphins draft. Would have been a little bit better if Brown fell one more pick, but Pat White is still a very underrated player. I don't think many people necessarily understand his value though. I expect him to play multiple positions (QB, WR, HB, and maybe even CB), and be a very good player wherever he plays. He could also be extremely dangerous in situations like trick plays, etc., where he's lined up as a slot receiver and ends up playing the QB. Vontae Davis will be a stud if he can keep his off-the-field problems a non-issue, and with him lined up with Smith, we could have one of the best CB combos in the NFL in a very short time. As for tomorrow, we already have a speed option at WR in Ginn, so I hope the Dolphins would maybe use one of their 5th round picks to take a receiver like Greg Carr, who's a possession receiver and an awesome red zone threat at 6'6. Also hope we pick up an LB and a lineman.
April 26, 200917 yr ITA about Sean Smith, love this pick. LMFAO at the Jest giving up all that they gave up to draft a future-bust like Sanchez. They gave up a 1st, 2nd, and 3 mediocre players for something they really needed...a quarterback. Nice to see you can tell the future, though. Perhaps you just want him to be a future-bust......... :whistle

I would put money on it that Sanchez doesn't last more than five years in the NFL, and many scouts agree with me. It's funny how you already seem to "know" that Davis is going to be a bust, yet Sanchez will not be.
