Carroll To AAA

I had him going down before Maybin. But in any case, this is no surprise. He seems to be our OF version of Andino. Good glove, not much bat. It's a shame really. One of the best throws I have seen from an OF was him vs the Tigers this ST. It wowed the whole crowd.

He has an arm made of pure gold.

Sadly, he has a bat made of pure... you get it.

I was expecting Martinez to be sent down but with the struggles of the rotation I'm guessing the team preferred to carry an extra arm in the pen.

Hope he gets some AB's and finds a groove, if the offense was producing more the team could afford to keep a defensive specialist. Now we get Hermida's misadventures in the outfield.

What misadventures are you talking about? Hermida's been solid this year. How many can you think of besides that one day game where everyone on both teams were having problems in the outfield?

We're more likely to have Coghlan misadventures, if anything.

Regarding Carlos Martinez, really what is the point in having him with the team just now? He has only been given 1 appearance in around 10 days with the team. Similarly, is it just me or has Hayden Penn received next to no work of late?

Maybe not misadventures, but the failure to make plays. A couple of times against Milwaukee, fly balls he just let drop-looks like a hit, but another outfielder with better instincts reads the ball and catches it. Unless Hermida gets consistent at the plate, in my mind, he costs us by letting innings continue.

Hermid has been playing LF, with Coghlan in line-up, the old unreliable Hermida will show up in RF

Unfortunately, Midas forgot to touch his bat.

We can't really judge Carroll as a hitter he got NO real playing time I mean how can you judge a guy who's used to ALWAYS being an everyday player who is so young, and we ask him to forget who he was now he will be a pinch hitter, and of defense replacement! I mean unless he gets a good month out there like Cameron Mayben did we can't judge him.

Carroll could be a stud wit the bat, and we just don't know it because we wont give him playing time... Yet Mayben got a full month, and Bonifraudio is still here...

This isn't exactly his first rodeo. You're talking about a guy who didn't have an OBP over .313 or an OPS above .743 until he was 24 in AA. Until that season, he had only hit .250 once, and that was in short season A ball at 21.

The only place he's ever been able to hit at is the hitter's paradise of Albuquerque. He wasn't even a very good hitter in college.
