In all seriousness though, if he didn't move Bonifacio out of the leadoff spot tonight (which was a perfect opportunity to do so) then you have to wonder what it will take.

A couple of us here were saying Boni was showing improvement during the first 3 weeks of this month, as was Tommy. Now that Tommy is saying what you all want to hear it's a different story? That I have a problem with.

I could probably agree with you if you could show just ONE guy on this team that hasn't missed a signal. Not trying to make an excuse for that mind fart, just saying everyone makes them on every team. Some are as evident as that one, some are pushed off as others' mistakes.

Where's Aza? Why did he get sent down after having a great game at the plate? I mean yeah, he should have caught that ball in center, but at least he hit a lot.

If you think you know more baseball than Fredi, why don't you prove it to an owner and apply for a manager's job in the minors and develop your managerial skills over many years. Then hopefully if you prove yourself in the minors, a respected big league manager will hire you as a member of his coaching staff in the big league team. Work beside one of the best managers of all time (someone like Bobby Cox, for example) for several years perfecting your philosophy and style of managing. Then get hired as the manager of a big league team and have amateur bloggers evaluate your every move, critizizing you when the team loses but never praising your decisions when the team wins.

I've been pretty good about boni. I've never been to high or low on him, I want him to do well but right now he looks pretty bad. I'm fine with him playing just not leadoff.

We sent him down at the time because we needed to call up emergency bullpen help. I don't think he's eligible to come back up yet plus we already called up BC.

Wow, my brain hurts. If Fredi truly thinks that Bonifacio is best for the team's chances to win, then he is a moron. Period.

BTW, Fredi never proved he could manage anything. He was hyped just because he was a coach under Bobby Cox. Wow, such an impressive track record he has. I guarantee you this team would score more runs on average if Bonifacio played less or batted 8th where he belongs.

Although I've never like Boni in a way I've kind of supported him and defended him because I think he was doing pretty much what was expected of him but now I think he has taken his game to another level of badness so now I want him on the bench.

 

I would put Gload at 1B and Cantu at 3B.

 

I think Fredi will leave Cantu at 1B and will put Helms at 3B.

I do like Boni - he has potential - but there's trying too hard and trying too stupid.

 

Those times that he's cut off Hanley = Stupid.

Holding off during the squeeze play with Wes = Stupid (although, mistakes do happen, signs get mis-read)

 

I would stick Boni down to the 8 hole and give him a couple more shots. If that still doesn't work - send him back down and bring up De Aza and have him lead off. I like Coggie but do NOT understand why in the h*ll Freddi would leave Coggie over De Aza considering what the man did in the short time that he was playing.

 

Uggs is showing signs of life. Cantu and Hermida are struggling. WHERE IS OUR BATTING COACH?! I mean, c'mon, remember when players used to make ADJUSTMENTS to their ABs? if Hermida continues to struggle, get Gload out there!

 

Most of our batters seem to go up there to hit a HR and only a HR. They need to go out there with the thoughts of putting the ball in play. You know "the little things" as T-Hut likes to say. ESPECIALLY with RISP. When you take big cuts, you don't always get lucky.

 

Something needs to happen. While no team can win every game in the series (wouldn't that be something? ), the blown leads are just disgusting. So are the called three strikes when the guys just watch the ball go by. I could, at least, respect a swinging strike - you tried.

Taking Bonifacio out of the leadoff spot and putting DeAza there is a lateral move at best. Honestly people, knock that crap off.

Clearly, Fredi badly wants Bonifacio in the lineup. Well, why not bat him 8th or something? He's been useless in the leadoff spot. The guy rarely gets on base- something the leadoff hitter should be doing. :banghead

You have to wonder if the players see him sucking and want him lower in the order or on the bench. I know they'd never come out and say it but i bet they talk about it amongst each other.
