July 9, 200916 yr There is a huge red flag here. Ryan has to be seriously used goods here. At least Donnolly was performing in AAA. To just release this future all star, something isn't right. I think we have enough options without him. When you say something isn't right, don't immediately assume he's hurt. Remember when the Jays released Frank Thomas just before he hit one of the milestones in his contract. This could be something like that. Cot's doesn't have any details on incentives in Ryan's contract, but that doesn't mean that there aren't any.

From what Cot's says, and it can be incomplete, Ryan gets paid regardless and without any additional incentive clauses.
July 9, 200916 yr From an article by the Canadian Press: Overall he was 1-1 with a 6.53 ERA and two saves in 20 2-3 innings, with 13 strikeouts and 17 walks. "In the role we have for him, he's not going to be effective for us," said Ricciardi. "This gives him a chance to get on with his life and it gives us a chance to move on." I guess they just don't want him. This is good for BJ. Now he can go to a team that will actually have a role for him, and as far as I can tell, he gets $10 million from the Jays next year.
July 10, 200916 yr HELL NO, HELL NO, HELL NO! I live in Toronto, (not a Jays fan). I can tell you this guy has been nothing but bad news since coming off the surgery. When the coach says " I guess we'll have to wait for blowouts to use him", that should tell you something Stay far away!!!!! The better question is what would it take to get Halladay on the Marlins.
July 10, 200916 yr HELL NO, HELL NO, HELL NO! The better question is what would it take to get Halladay on the Marlins. Mike Stanton, Logan Morrison, Matt Dominguez, Cameron Maybin, Sean West. And I'm serious. My roommate is a Cards fan and he said that in the Cardinals discussion with Toronto, the Cardinals would have to give up any 5 of their prospects to get Doc. Toronto would get to pick whoever they wanted. So, f*** no. If we trade for Halladay, I'll f***ing break something. But, as we found out last year in the Manny talks, the FO is not willing to give away our entire farm system in order to acquire a superstar.
July 10, 200916 yr ya the cards asked what it would take and the blue jays said send me one of your minor league rosters and we will circle the 5 we want
July 10, 200916 yr ya the cards asked what it would take and the blue jays said send me one of your minor league rosters and we will circle the 5 we want LOL. That is EXACTLY what happened. No matter how you look at it, the deal would f*** us.
July 10, 200916 yr You can't compare the cardinal's system to ours Hmm...ok well what would your estimate be? Either way, it's going to be devastating.
July 10, 200916 yr It wouldn't be devastating because we have so much top end depth. Losing one of Logan/Stanton wouldn't cripple us. It'd take one of them, probably west, probably one of our upper bats like Pete or Cousins or Gaby, and then 1-2 A ball pitchers.

Yeah ok, so our farm system is far superior to the Cardinals, other than Brett Wallace. It was a pretty bad comparison, but I was just using it as an factual example. I'm just not ready to commit to winning in 2009-2010. My real hope is the years soon after that.
July 11, 200916 yr You might be surprised, the Jays g.m J.P Riccardi is a first class jack ass, (see A.J Burnett). It's not entirely impossible to pull the wool over his eyes, I'm going to go on record by saying the Jays are going to f*ck themselves over in any deal for Halladay. But Halladay and Johnson would be just like Johnson and Schilling of '01 if we were to make into the playoffs.
July 11, 200916 yr If Stanton is not wearing a Marlins jersey in 2011, I'll kill be less apt to hug someone. Fixed.
July 11, 200916 yr How about we get some god damn people who can hit the ball?? thats what im saying uggla is pissing me of batting like .230
July 11, 200916 yr How about we get some god damn people who can hit the ball?? thats what im saying uggla is pissing me of batting like .230 Who cares about his BA? He's a power hitter so we should be looking at his RBI's, slugging and OPS. The Homeruns and RBI totals are there but his slugging and OPB are low which is keeping his OPS lower then average. If anyone needs to start hitting it's Hermida and Baker and at times Bonifacio.

I seriousely think I'll kill someone. it would be the worst decision in the franchises hitstory. but I was on mlb trade rumors and beinfest reportedly said stanton is untouchable so thats good
