Samson "Our Phones Are Silent"

Featured Replies

Its also BS...

Actually maybe it just means the phone are set to silent mode... maybe Samson was in church when he said that. Or maybe he had a crappy ringtone like Rick Astley Never Gonna Give You Up and he got tired of hearing it cause JP Riccardi has been calling him nonstop, so he then set it to silent? You never know!

There's too many rumors out there right now about us trying to go after this player or that player to believe this.

Halladay, Gomes, Johnson, Bell.. possibly Adrian Gonzalez have all been mentioned.

I just think he's trying not to tip the Marlins hand.

A move will be made.. just a gut feeling.

No team executive in any league on any level ever comes out and says, "Our phones are ringing off the hook and we'll be making such and such deal tomorrow." They all give the standard answers.....we're listening, nothing going on, blah blah blah. We'll know soon enough.

When I found out that Samson was watching movies at midnight last night is when I confirmed the thought that he has very little to do with trades.

Didnt he say he was watching Knocked up for the 100th time?

No one wants to talk to Samson

Exactly. If he called me right now, I would yell something at him and slam the phone. :thumbup

He may have some input on the $$$ being spent, but I believe you are right on this one. It will come down to Loria, Admin, and Michael. David has so far done a fantastic job on the new pond so anyone looking for reasons to knock him for anything is just looking for flaws. He's the prez, he repeatedly shows his comments are "controversial" at best, but he will be questioned for anything if someone thinks they can get a "scoop" of some kind.

If our phones are actually silent I'm not surprised. Every trade offer that I've read being made by this team seems unreasonable (except for Nick Johnson). We expect the other teams to spend an inordinate amount of money and/or to move top players without including a quality player or top prospect of our own. We're expecting to rip off every team in the league and that just isn't going to work. If the guys in charge cared about actually improving this team as it is now, then they'd be making more aggressive and reasonable trade offers. As it is, all they want to do is create the impression that they are working hard and that if a deal doesn't get done, it isn't our own faults. And why should any of the guys in charge really try hard when they are gonna be pat on the back for having a good season, playoffs or not. And trading just one good prospect might make their jobs a little less easy in the future, but if they don't they can easily let our prospects take over and guide us to more .500 but no playoffs seasons.

Don't be fooled- if we don't get something amazing done, it will be our own faults.
