The 'DUCK' is here.

Hey guys this is my first time posting here. And I am glad I found this forum too. Hopefully Annibal has a great comeback. Looks like he has had great rehab starts and is back on track. If Annibal turns out to still be injured, I don't know what we would do... we need SP's so badly. We would probably have to go after one off of the waiver wire. I still maintain we should have got Brian Bannister if the Royals weren't going to overvalue him.

What's up, Fly?

You can call me Adre ;)

Welcome to MarlinsBaseball!

If anibal can come back and just give us good starts and get us deep into games then MAYBE i'll rethink my statement about this team not making the playoffs. i was a little harsh yesterday but i still standby most of what i said. unless volstad gets his head out of his ass and starts to pitch better and whoever our 5th starter is gets us into the 6th inning consistently, we still arent getting anywhere, so this game should tell us alot about our playoff hopes

Hey Floridafly, glad you decided to join this site finally. You probably know me as DM from GLB.

Let's see how the team performs this series. We can't really have anymore setbacks...

a sweep would likely be the end of the loser's nl east hopes and put them in a huge hole in the wild card.

i don't see any locks for any of the games this weekend for any team, the pitching matchups are about even, i think it's going to come down to the late innings. i personally say that we (the braves) take 2 of 3 this series.

pitching matchups dont favor us but who knows with this team.

Jorge Cantu's stiff neck is still bothering him, and he was out ofthe starting lineup on Friday in the series opener with the Braves.

Cantu, who also didn't start on Thursday at Houston, attempted someswings in the cage on Friday afternoon, but he didn't feel right. Hewas shut down. Manager Fredi Gonzalez hasn't ruled out using Cantu as apinch-hitter. There is a chance he still could start in the series atAtlanta.

Cantu also didn't start on Thursday in Houston.

Nick Johnson, resting a strained right hamstring since lastSunday, most likely won't play the entire series in Atlanta. However, the Marlins are hoping to avoid placing him on the disabled list, retroactive to Aug. 17.

The Marlins are off on Monday, before opening a series at home with the Mets. The hope is Johnson will be ready for Tuesday.

Friday's lineup against the Braves.

1) Coghlan, LF

2) Gload, 1B

3) Hanley, SS

4) Uggla, 2B

5) Baker, C

6) Ross, CF

7) Hermida, RF

8) Helms, 3B

9) Sanchez, P

Freaking great were in a huge series and playoff hunt and two of our best hitters are hurt.
