The thing is, I doubt the Phillies choke like the Mets did twice. They thrive in situations where things are tough. They don't choke.

Fighting it out with the Braves for 2nd vs 3rd place is meaningless. As long as mathematically we are contending in the NL East I'd think you're looking for as many other teams as can beat the Phillies to do so considering our six games remaining with them.

yes. they actually went to the wold series with a good young exciting team. they deserve more games like that, plus the trop has a pretty loud exciting atmosphere now which attracts more nationally tv games

I don't know how many televised games they had before last year, but I imagine it was far less than the ones they have now. Also, this isn't some respect thing - it's about ratings and money. They don't put the Marlins on because they don't think enough people want to watch to warrant it.

No, that's just what happens when you're disrespected. The f***ing Padres got a Sunday night game not so long ago. The Marlins might not be winning championships/making the playoffs lately, but they're still an above average competitive team. They have one of the best players in the game (Hanley).

 

The home games argument is a fair one...If I were ESPN, I wouldn't show a Marlins home game, either. But they can still show 1 or 2 of the 81 road games. Several teams worse than the Marlins have gotten a crack at national TV, this year. The Marlins deserve this.

The Fish screwed it up for the division. Unfortunately barring a total failure by the Phillies the Wild Card has become the only option at the current moment. It's a shame because the Wild Card is hoping for other teams to lose...

 

San Fransisco is about to lose... so with a win tonight for us we will be 1 back on them. Slowly this can happen, though dont get your hopes up just yet.
