March 2, 201016 yr A buddy and I decided to go fishing around local canals and lakes in search of tarpon and snook. We went to a few old spots I haven't fished in over a year, and I found my self near the stadium with my camera (Nikon D3000). So I made my friend drive me by to snap a few pics from the passenger side of the truck. I probably should have been in the bed as he drove me around but that seemed like too much work. Enough rambling, here are a few of the pics. There was a lot of local traffic so we couldn't really stay stopped too long to get "the shot". It was crazy already seeing some of the stair cases for the bleachers.
March 2, 201016 yr Great pics! It really is impressive when you see it in person from the street. The webcam doesn't do it justice at all.
March 2, 201016 yr There is a much more "in city" feeling to the new location I must add... unlike that of the BankAtlantic Center or Dolphinwhatever Stadium. It seems so unnatural and unwelcoming to visit those venues. While I understand the AA is in the heart of downtown Miami as well... even it's being on the water gives you an empty feeling lol. But not so much as the other two at all.

Also, do you think *crossing my fingers* that those teal polls in the front mean something regarding the colors???? :whistle

This is not fair. I spent well over 100$ on gear last year and soon it'll all be vintage... Totes not cool.
March 13, 201016 yr Anyone else scared of what that area will be like after we win the next ws? It will get CRAZY. Boy, this is a good fear to have! :thumbup
March 16, 201016 yr Anyone else scared of what that area will be like after we win the next ws? It will get CRAZY. Dude it's gonna be freakin nuts. Especially with the restaurants/bars that will be located on the outside of the parking structures. Although I fully expect that after the NEXT World Series, 65,000 fans will be pouring out of Sun Life and onto the streets . Hey, 6th year after a fire sale is coming up: 98, 99, 00, 01, 02, 03; 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11! Let's save the party in Little Havana for ring number 4, and close out the Joe Robbie/Pro Player/Dolphins/Dolphin/Land Shark/Sun Life stadium era with a bang!
March 16, 201016 yr The Marlins website has a new article up about the stadium. Look forward to a second webcam in about two weeks. My new addiction is checking the webcam everyday to see whats going on.
March 16, 201016 yr You guys have to admit, as much as you might dislike Samson, you have to love his hard work on the stadium and how willing he is to give details about the stadium.
March 16, 201016 yr quick question: I see on the webcam that they are building the outline for the seats with the roof stabililzing pole/tower thing in the middle. Will that be in the way of seats or will they make that towards the back so that it doesnt get in anybody's view point?

My new addiction is checking the webcam everyday to see whats going on. I agree. I try to get myself to not look at it for like a few weeks at a time so i can truly see how much they've done, but I just cant help but look at it once a day? ANybody know the where the 2nd camera will be?
March 16, 201016 yr The local TV stations were given a tour of the stadium's progress today. Here's channel 10's story.
March 16, 201016 yr The Herald has a good video from the press tour. http://www.miamiherald.com/video/index.html?media_id=11666335

Woo!
March 18, 201016 yr The Herald has a good video from the press tour. http://www.miamihera...dia_id=11666335 I think Sun Sentinel has a better video: http://blogs.trb.com/sports/custom/business/blog/2010/03/marlins_stadium_update_no_475.html

March 20, 201016 yr Does the webcam go down on weekends? Right now it shows for me friday at 11:45pm. I never get to check it during the week and now its down Must be your computer because I just checked and it shows today at 3:30pm.
March 22, 201016 yr quick question: I see on the webcam that they are building the outline for the seats with the roof stabililzing pole/tower thing in the middle. Will that be in the way of seats or will they make that towards the back so that it doesnt get in anybody's view point? They will be somewhere in the concourse, but not in the way of any seats: It might get in the way of the last few seats in that one section of the upper deck behind home plate, but they have ben pretty insistent that there "won't be a bad seat in the house". I think the columns in the top rendering are the 3rd and 4th from the left when your looking on the webcam.

BTW, thanks for showing me this because i thought where all those poles are now is where the outfield seats are being built.
