Marlins win 10-2.

W: J. Johnson (1-1)

L: Harang (0-2)

My vote goes for JJ

Mine, too. I was waiting for Gizmo, but I guess he's not around.

I gave it to Maybin. Great swings, deep counts, and his first HR.

Had to give Maybin some love today.

He's looking better and better every day.

I still want to see more XBH, but I agree.

I vote for myself. For the second consecutive day I missed the game and for the second consecutive day they won. Coincidence? I think not. You're welcome...

Sorry guys, had a family emergency. I might not be around here much for the next few days

Whatever that is, best of luck.

Gizmo, hope everything turns out okay for you and ur family.

My vote goes to Maybin, just had a nice solid game. The HR that hit got out quickly.

Was nice to see JJ bounce back and strike out 10.

Great to finally see some power from Maybin. Also very reassuring that JJ had a dominant start after a couple of question marks early in the season.

Much luck buddy. Be well.

I thought JJs 10 Ks in 6 innings was very encouraging, especially after his K numbers in his previous 2 starts.

Also, I know it's early, but Maybin is showing that he belongs. It's very comforting to know that if Cogs struggles we can move him down to the 8th spot and have Maybin and Bake, in the 1 and 2 holes.

Between Bake, CC, and arguably Gaby Sanchez we have so many 2 hitters we don't know what to do with them all.

If we had a 2010-only perspective, 2 of those guys should probably bat 1/2, with Maybin further down.

Something more like:

CC

Gaby

Hanley

Cantu

Uggla

Baker

Ross

Maybin

But, they want Maybin to "learn" how to hit at the top of the lineup, so whatever.

Maybin might even be a good fit to bat 9th, tbh. He could have some nice protection behind him, then.

Hanley

Cantu

Uggla

Baker

Cody

Maybin

I'd really like that, but it won't happen.

Based on the numbers I plugged, that lineup would score 4.909 runs per game, pretty close to "optimal". Feel free to argue my numbers, but I think they're pretty reasonable on the whole.

it was good end series that was rocky at first two game

I was actually interested in this when we had Bonifacio in the starting lineup last year. I think Maybin can be a solid hitter though. He's hitting the ball well, at the moment, so I don't like the idea of having him bat 9th, and giving him potentially less AB's in a game. But I totally get your idea.
